WWE Replacement For Adam Pearce

Share

WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce crossed out

With the WWE Draft reportedly fast approaching, there is a unique opportunity to create shake-ups for the General Manager positions as well.

With WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce perpetually tortured by the same cast of Raw troublemakers, he may appreciate the respite. However, someone would need to fill in his role of attempting to control the roster.

Here are eight possible WWE replacements for Adam Pearce.

8. Mick Foley

Beloved WWE veteran Mick Foley continues to tour the United States making appearances related to professional wrestling.

Since the WWE Hall of Famer remains so universally loved by WWE fans – he would make the perfect substitute for Adam Pearce.

Able to break up conflict between the roster with a great sense of humor, Foley has experience in the Raw GM hot seat back in 2016, as well as during the Attitude Era as the Commissioner.

Having Mick Foley as an authority figure in WWE in the Triple H era would actually be a wonderful way to give him one last ‘run’ without requiring in-ring competition that could risk his health.

7. CM Punk

WWE's CM Punk

With an existing real-life history between Adam Pearce and CM Punk, if WWE needed to replace one Chicago native – perhaps another would be able to fill his shoes.

Since he is already a locker room leader of sorts, taking a step towards making that official would be an interesting storyline as well.

With shades of the narrative already planted via Punk’s potential future behind-the-scenes in WWE, it would be interesting to see his increasing backstage influence demonstrated through an on-screen storyline.

For a character with very anti-authority roots, Punk ending up as an authority figure without trying to lose his edge is a unique story that would be worth telling by WWE.

6. Kevin Owens

The perfect fit for a no non-sense GM is actually already a WWE star who is out of action due to injury – Kevin Owens.

While Owens is out of action due to a neck injury, his potential return timeline remains unknown – if he elects to return to competition at all.

However, a role that he would be excellent in should he return to WWE on-screen is that of General Manager on Raw.

As a character, KO is not shy about calling out his fellow roster members and coupled with his naturally funny comedic timing, Owens would be a great choice.

5. Nick Aldis

Recently subbed in for Adam Pearce as General Manager of Raw for the April 28 episode, seeing Aldis deal with the Raw roster was an interesting experiment.

Faced with a brand new cast of characters to give him a hard time during the broadcast, Aldis was able to rise to the occasion and maintain the order for Raw on Netflix.

If there were to simply be a GM shake-up, sending Aldis, Pearce and NXT GM Ava to different brands – it could open up a lot of intriguing possibilities.

While plenty of fans are interested in seeing Randy Orton and Nick Aldis mix it up in the ring – perhaps there are Raw stars that would be even more enticing to bring Aldis back to in-ring action.

4. Santino Marella

While former WWE star Santino Marella is currently an on-screen authority figure in TNA Wrestling, he would make a fun fill-in for Adam Pearce.

With a long history with many members of the WWE locker room, he would be a fun nostalgic appearance that is sure to get a big pop, much like he did when he showed back up in NXT recently.

Adding a layer, it would probably be quite amusing to see Pearce having traded places with Marella for a show, exposing the Raw GM to all kinds of shenanigans in TNA.

With Marella’s real-life daughter Arianna Grace on the NXT roster, it would be great to see him back in WWE even if just for a couple appearances a year.

3. Bobby Roode

Former WWE star Bobby Roode saw his in-ring career come to an end after injuries necessitated multiple neck surgeries.

While Roode’s wrestling career in WWE is over, behind the scenes he has continued as a producer and can sometimes be seen even running out to break up a brawl between WWE stars.

With his charisma and microphone skills as well as depth of history with the Raw roster, Roode would be an excellent substitute for Adam Pearce if needed.

Another former star that has continued a backstage role is Jason Jordan – who would also make a great GM albeit more affable character than Roode.

2. William Regal

With a history of being a beloved on-screen authority figure across many different eras and brands, William Regal could take on the WWE Raw GM role with an entirely new character.

Since returning to WWE from his stint in AEW, Regal has made a few appearances on TV but has not been an anchor to an on-going storyline.

Having demonstrated success in pulling some really iconic intensity out of others, maybe Regal could become the perfect authority figure foe to a member of the Raw roster.

While mischievous Regal is enjoyable, the range of characters he is able to convincingly play could call for a darker tone, similar to his role as Raw GM in 2008.

1. Nikki Bella

After making a return to the ring at the Royal Rumble, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella has continued to tease that she will be back to WWE again in the future.

While she was medically cleared to compete in the Rumble, perhaps the best use of Nikki Bella on WWE TV would be in a GM role.

Able to make more periodic appearances, Bella could also be positioned as the GM of the Women’s division – being shown brokering matches ahead of PLEs and giving a literal face to a character “fighting for the women”.

While the Triple H era has received criticism for the booking for the women’s division – the division also lacks a ‘main character’ who is shown as an on-screen advocate for the division. If anyone could take over be convincingly positioned on TV as a voice fighting for the women of WWE –  it should be Nikki Bella.
