With Dirty Dominik Mysterio continues to gain popularity in AAA, there could be a several WWE stars looking to replace him.
After making history capturing the AAA Mega Championship while holding the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Dirty Dominik Mysterio has an even bigger target on his back. With multiple stars looking to replace him as either champ, Mysterio could be in for a long fall season.
Here are eight potential replacements in WWE for Dominik Mysterio.
8. Rey Mysterio
It could end up that all of the smack talking that Dominik Mysterio has done over the years about his WWE Hall of Famer father Rey Mysterio will come back to haunt him and the AAA Mega Championship.
Dirty Dom’s “deadbeat Dad”, as he refers to him, Rey Mysterio, recently made an intriguing statement regarding his feuds with Dominik.
Noting that the duo had gone their separate ways, he didn’t see a need to involve himself in his son’s business… unless of course Dominik captured the AAA Mega Championship.
Potentially teasing a future program between Dominik and Rey in AAA, there could be a very exciting time coming soon in the promotion.

7. Finn Balor
With Judgment Day seemingly catching fire in AAA including wild crowd reactions for the different members, it could be that the entire group factors into a big storyline in Mexico.
Since Finn Balor has been hugely popular – with he and his puppet Demonito taking aim at Mr. Iguana and La Yesca – it seems unlikely that his appearances in AAA will slow down.
Rather than playing out exclusively on WWE Raw, it could be that the dissension between Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio could also see storylines in AAA.
With Dom distracted by everything going on with the AAA Mega Championship, it could be the perfect time for Finn Balor to strike to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the third time in his career.

6. Uncle Howdy
Dominik Mysterio has been a notoriously bad boyfriend to his on-screen love interests in WWE and notably terrible to his family as well.
Seemingly the perfect combination to draw the ire of the Wyatt Sicks – it could be that Dominik Mysterio needs to contend with the entire faction sometime soon.
Able to have the Wyatt Sicks go up against Judgment Day in multi-person action, eventually the AAA Mega Championship could come down to a showdown between Dirty Dom and Uncle Howdy.
With the Wyatt Sicks a perfect fit in AAA – Dominik Mysterio could become their next victim in the promotion.

5. El Grande Americano
Dirty Dom owes a major assist in his AAA Mega Championship victory over El Hijo del Vikingo to El Grande Americano.
With the masked ally at ringside, Vikingo attempted to unmask Americano, but during the distraction, Americano still managed to slide Dirty Dom a weapon to add to his luchador mask.
Mysterio would go on to capitalize and pick up the pinfall victory over Vikingo to capture the AAA Mega Championship – but perhaps Americano will want something in return.
Potentially looking to get a future title shot, it could end up being Dirty Dom’s ally El Grande Americano who takes one of his titles from him!

4. Bronson Reed
With The Vision still dominating on WWE Raw, it makes sense that either Bronson Reed or Bron Breakker might want to target Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.
While Dirty Dom has been largely left alone by the faction, their quest to accumulate gold could see Bron Breakker recapture the Intercontinental Championship for the third time – but another option could be even better.
Bronson Reed has yet to capture any singles titles on the main roster, in fact he hasn’t been a WWE champion at all since his run as NXT North American Champion back in 2021.
After having demonstrated his abilities in a recent feud with Roman Reigns and now teaming with Bron Breakker against The Usos, it could be time for Bronson Reed to claim the Intercontinental Championship.

3. Dragon Lee
While he was presented strongly in NXT, since moving to the main roster Dragon Lee hasn’t made quite the same impact.
Although he was a singles star in NXT, Lee ended up joining the LWO and in some ways saw his individual ambitions lost in the shuffle.
However, with the affiliation with Rey Mysterio and the LWO, Dragon Lee could be the perfect challenger for the AAA Mega Championship.
Able to re-invigorate his character as the top champ in AAA, Dragon Lee could go on to feud with top stars from AAA and WWE alike over the title.

2. Sheamus
While Dominik Mysterio has made history holding a AAA title and a WWE title at the same time – there is another man still looking to make history.
Sheamus has yet to capture the Intercontinental Championship despite winning every other title in WWE – making the IC Title his holy grail.
Definitely in contention in the past, perhaps coming off of a brutal feud with Rusev, now would be a great time for Sheamus to strike.
Potentially aligning with Rusev – which the latter seemingly teased after their violent bout at Clash in Paris – perhaps Sheamus will capitalize on Dominik Mysterio’s distractions in AAA to finally capture the IC Title.

1. Penta
While Penta challenged Dominik Mysterio for the IC Title back in May – now Dirty Dom has a new title to defend.
Previously holding gold in AAA, Penta has been AAA Latin American Champion as well as AAA Tag Team Champion and AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion – and could be looking to pick up another accolade.
Possibly able to have an amusing storyline where Penta lurks Dirty Dominik in pursuit of either the AAA Mega Championship or the WWE Intercontinental Championship – ultimately he would be forced defend one of them.
Bringing Penta back to AAA could be a great deal of fun and also put a stamp on the new era of WWE owned AAA.
