Since 2023, Ava has served as the WWE NXT General Manager and has grown increasingly over the past two years.

Showing poise and stoicness in various situations, Ava has become a stalwart for the NXT brand.

After training to become an in-ring competitor, WWE could choose to give Ava an opportunity to step inside the squared circle without her authority figure responsibilities and pick someone else to replace her as GM.

Here are seven potential WWE replacements for Ava.

7. Paige

WWE star Paige (AEW star Saraya)

In March 2025, Saraya announced her departure from All Elite Wrestling after three years with the promotion.

Making it no secret she would be open to making a return to WWE, Saraya could be about to become Paige once again.

Paige returning to WWE and once again becoming an authority figure would make a ton of sense considering her neck injuries that forced her retirement back in 2018.

Considering her legacy as the first ever NXT Women’s Champion, Paige seems like someone who has that connection to the brand to be the perfect replacement for Ava.

6. The Undertaker

2025 has been a fascinating year for The Undertaker as he takes on new and intriguing roles behind the scenes in his post-retirement career.

In a backstage creative position, Taker has taken on a larger role in helping the acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA for WWE.

Meanwhile, ‘The Deadman’ has also appeared various times on WWE NXT after becoming a coach for the new LFG show where he’s helped in the training with some of the Performance Center recruits.

After his increased involvement with the brand, Taker would be the biggest name who could come in to replace Ava as NXT General Manager down the line.

5. William Regal

On the September 16 NXT Homecoming show, William Regal made his return to the brand in a segment with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.

Regal has become a staple for the WWE NXT brand since starting as a commentator when it was rebranded in 2012.

After a seven year run as the General Manager, it might be time for Regal to make his return to the authority figure role that he is most famous for.

4. Stevie Turner

Throughout her run as NXT General Manager, fans have seen Ava receive some help from others on the roster.

Stevie Turner debuted on NXT as an in-ring competitor before eventually making the transition to becoming the assistant to Ava.

Learning from The Rock’s daughter, Turner has gained valuable lessons that made her the logical choice to become WWE Evolve Prime Minister when that brand was revived.

Turner being the heir apparent to Ava seems like the ideal line of succession for the NXT GM position after being trained for the job.

3. Robert Stone

Beside Stevie Turner, Robert Stone has also served as the assistant to NXT General Manager Ava.

Stone started on the WWE NXT brand as a manager with the Robert Stone Brand in the corner of various talents, such as Chelsea Green, Aliyah and Von Wagner.

After making the transition to the assistant role, Stone eventually took on a new position as the color commentator for the WWE Evolve brand.

Finally getting his shot at an authority figure position, Stone could replace Ava and reach one of the highest roles on the WWE NXT brand, seeing if his experience suits being the GM.

In 2021, Grayson Waller made his WWE debut and became a member of the NXT brand.

Becoming one of the cornerstones of NXT, Waller became synonymous with the brand and improved before the fans’ eyes.

After making a name for himself on the WWE main roster over the past two years, Waller has returned to NXT for the Grayson Waller Effect where he mostly recently helped to make one of the biggest matches in the brand’s history in Oba Femi vs. Trick Williams, Title vs. Title.

Following this show of power and authority, Waller could seem like a fit for a replacement for Ava as NXT GM where he can show a different side of his personality.

1. Joe Hendry

Receiving a surge of popularity unlike anyone outside of WWE, Joe Hendry has made a seamless transition to the company after rising up the ladder in TNA Wrestling.

Becoming the first TNA World Champion to appear on WrestleMania, it felt like a natural progression to see Hendry more often on WWE TV.

Since losing the TNA World Championship to Trick Williams at Battleground, Hendry has continued to appear on WWE television even being highlighted in the intro to the recent NXT Homecoming show.

Hendry having an authority figure role would make it interesting to see how he adapts to this position and reacts to the wild scenarios that the NXT roster will put him in.
