Here are eight potential changes to WWE Raw after Backlash 2025.

8. Roxanne Perez & Giulia Become A Threat To WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY

WWE stars Giulia, Roxanne Perez and IYO SKY

The May 12 episode of Monday Night Raw will feature WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY teaming with Rhea Ripley to face NXT’s Roxanne Perez and Giulia.

Perez and Giulia have come to the red brand and have been running roughshod over the women’s division with various attacks on the top stars.

After Perez and Giulia laid out SKY on the May 5 episode, the Women’s World Champion will be looking for revenge alongside Ripley who has also been the victim of their assaults.

Roxanne and Giulia picking up the win in this tag team bout could be considered an upset, but it feels like the right decision because it would legitimize them as a threat to IYO’s current reign.

7. Penta & El Grande Americano Rivalry Heats Up

WWE stars Penta and El Grande Americano

At WWE Backlash 2025, Dominik Mysterio defeated Penta to retain the Intercontinental Championship thanks to outside interference from El Grande Americano.

After weeks of interactions with Chad Gable, Penta has drawn the ire of his good friend Americano which should lead to a showdown between the two luchadores.

With WWE planning the upcoming NXT and AAA Worlds Collide event in Los Angeles at the beginning of June, this should set things up for a clash between Penta and Americano.

In what could potentially become a mask vs. mask match, Penta and Americano’s rivalry should be heating up in the weeks to come on Raw, starting with the May 12 episode.

Since returning to WWE on the Raw After WrestleMania 41, Rusev has been on a mission to destroy everyone who has become complacent or reminds him of what he became towards to the end of his last stint.

On the May 5 edition of Monday Night Raw, Rusev defeated Otis. Post match, “The Bulgarian Brute” laid out both Otis and Akira Tozawa with a vicious beatdown.

With Alpha Academy now laid to waste, Rusev should move onto bigger and better opposition over on the red brand.

On the May 12 episode of WWE Raw, AJ Styles will go one-on-one with his former rival Finn Balor of The Judgment Day.

This bout between the two former Bullet Club leaders got set up after Styles made it clear that he plans on challenging Balor’s Judgment Day stablemate Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.

A victory over Finn should set the stage for “The Phenomenal One” to become the next challenger for “Dirty Dom” in the weeks to come.

Whether it be on an episode of Raw, Saturday Night’s Main Event or the next PLE with Money In The Bank, Styles challenging Mysterio for the IC Title will make for an intriguing battle.

Post match, Lynch brutally attacked Valkyria and applied the Dis-Arm-Her until officials came down to separate the two women.

If WWE wants to bring a bigger spotlight on this ongoing rivalry, Bayley should be on her way back to the company’s television on the May 12 episode of Raw.

Bayley making her way back will lead to her getting revenge on Becky when she makes her return, so this will become one of the biggest and most prominent storylines on the Monday Night Raw brand.

3. Sami Zayn Challenges Seth Rollins

On the April 28 edition of WWE Raw, Sami Zayn confronted Seth Rollins about his new alliance with Paul Heyman, leading to the two friends meeting a crossroad.

After Rollins offered Zayn a way out of Raw and to move out of their way of his plans with Heyman as well as Bron Breakker, Sami refused to be threatened and bribed by his friend. This led to Breakker destroying Zayn at the behest of Rollins and Seth delivering a Curb Stomp as well.

The May 5 episode of Raw saw Zayn get involved in Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship match with Jey Uso and be part of the reason why Seth did not walk out with the gold.
