WWE NXT is set to continue on after recent roster cuts but there may be even more changes headed to the brand soon.
With shifting storylines ahead of the WWE Draft and titles on the line to potentially brand new challengers, there is a lot of room for movement at the Performance Center ahead of Battleground on May 25.
Here are seven changes that could happen to NXT.
7. New NXT Stars Debut Via Battle Royal
The 25-man Battle Royal set for the May 6 edition of NXT could end up being a segue for the arrival of wrestlers that have yet to appear.
Like any event that holds the opportunity for surprise appearances like the main roster’s Royal Rumble, this battle royal could be the debut for some of the rumored signed talent that has remained off screen.
With big forces like Hikuleo, Jeff Cobb and Lance Anoa’i yet to make an arrival on-screen but all reportedly signed with WWE, the battle royal could be a great way to debut.
There could be any number of surprises and given the nature of the match – any last minute changes would be totally unknown to audiences, making for the perfect opportunity for unexpected chaos.

6. The End Of More Alliances
While it seems that NXT is making way for some stars to head to the main roster by way of the WWE Draft, it could also be possible that others are being written off television entirely.
With last week’s episode of NXT featuring the break-up of Meta-Four – with each being noted as going their separate ways – by the end of the week, both Jakara Jackson and Oro Mensah had been revealed to be released from the company.
While it still seems that the D’Angelo Family storyline is yet to reach the final ending, there is also simmering tension within the No Quarter Catch Crew as well.
During a time that any farewell or break-up will feel like it runs the risk of having a subsequent real-world implication, the drama on-screen is set to spark more intrigue and speculation.

5. A DarkState Reveal Is Related To Joe Hendry
On the May 6 edition of NXT, NXT Tag Team Champions Hank Walker and Tank Ledger join with TNA Champion Joe Hendry to take on three members of the rogue faction, DarkState.
Perhaps DarkState, which continues to be rumored to potentially have a yet to be named leader, is actually linked to a bigger storyline.
While the four continue to be fierce in competition and their identities are no longer a mystery, none is singled out as the specific leader or designated mouthpiece for the group – leading fans to wonder if there is a leader yet to be revealed.
The leader of DarkState could be revealed as someone with a massive axe to grind against Joe Hendry – like Trick Williams perhaps – as a way to continue to link the TNA Wrestling Champion to a big storyline in NXT.

4. End Of Tag Teams
After a historic run with the NXT Tag Team Championship, before departing for the main roster Nathan Frazer and Axiom lost the tag team titles to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.
While the recent WWE releases have been accompanied by speculation that there is a noted departure from emphasis on tag team wrestling moving forward, that concept kind of would make sense on NXT at least.
While the men’s tag team division could still exist, it is able to be more free spirted rather than rooted in fierce competition.
With the ability to still showcase different aspects of singles stars within tag team matches rather than writing storylines around tag teams, tag team wrestling will live on – albeit with a new purpose.

3. More TNA Wrestling Appearances
After Jordynne Grace made several appearances in NXT ahead of her departure from TNA Wrestling to officially sign with WWE, it seems that Joe Hendry is following suit.
However it is likely he won’t be the last TNA Wrestling star to begin being incorporated into NXT storylines ahead of a presumed transition to the main roster one day.
Masha Slamovich seems like one likely choice with other former WWE stars also seemingly primed for appearances in their new character iterations.
While Matt and Jeff Hardy remain largely similar in character, others like Ash by Elegance (Dana Brooke), AJ Francis and Indi Hartwell could pop back by NXT.

2. Make Worlds Collide Even Bigger
After NXT Battleground on May 25, the next premium live event coming up for the developmental brand is a crossover show.
Worlds Collide on Saturday, June 7 is already set to feature talent from NXT and AAA but it could get even bigger given the company’s other working relationships.
It would be very intersting if the Los Angeles event was able to also feature talent from the Japanese promotion Marigold or TNA Wrestling to make it even more of a landmark event.
While AEW has already been having crossover events with NJPW and later CMLL, ROH and STARDOM – WWE could do a similar show but for a massive new audience.

1. Outside Challengers For Oba Femi
With a 25-man Battle Royal set for NXT on May 6 to determine the next in line for an NXT Championship match – there could be a host of shifts in the coming weeks.
While some of the stars in NXT are presumably moving on to the main roster soon – like Trick Williams, Tony D’Angelo and ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page seemingly ready to roll – there will be opportunity for others to move up the card.
Ricky Saints, Je’Von Evans, Shawn Spears or Charlie Dempsey could be poised to rise the ranks of the men’s division to take a shot at Oba Femi.
However, since it has been made clear that some of the entrants may come from TNA Wrestling, perhaps there will be a surprise outside challenger who sneaks up for a shot at Oba Femi.
