With AEW Forbidden Door 2025 fast approaching, there could be some surprise appearances from WWE legends set for the event.
From a legendary star who could back-up a pair of old friends to Hall of Famers who could be shown taking in the action in London – there are some intriguing possibilities for who could make an appearance.
Here are five WWE legends that could make an appearance at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.
5. Brie Bella
Although it seemed she would re-join sister Nikki Bella in WWE, Brie Bella has still yet to make any appearances.
While WWE fans continue to hope that Brie will make an on-screen appearance, the star herself recently offered a thought about her exclusion on her podcast.
Noting that it could be related to Bryan Danielson’s continue appearances in AEW – maybe Brie Bella will pop up in London instead.
This week Bryan Danielson filled in for Taz on commentary for Dynamite, suggesting he might be on hand for this year’s big Forbidden Door event in London.

4. Bret Hart
One WWE legend who has been known for speaking his mind from time to time is Bret Hart.
While he has appeared on-screen in AEW in the past – introducing the AEW World Heavyweight Championship belt at Double or Nothing 2019 – he did call it a “one time thing”.
After recently speaking out about his experience at SummerSlam 2025, perhaps Bret Hart would be interested in taking in AEW Forbidden Door.
Able to appear in the crowd, Hart’s attendance would be a fun surprise for the fans in attendance and at home.

3. Gangrel
One potential WWE alum who could make a surprise appearance that would fit within the current storyline is Gangrel.
With there being the late addition of Killswitch to sub in for Nick Wayne, perhaps Cope & Christian will have an old pal they could call upon as well.
After having previously made a fun surprise appearance during Cope’s TNT Championship bout against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing 2024 – it would be enjoyable to see him again.
Able to this time link up with both Cope and Christian Cage, there could be a Brood reunion in London at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.

2. Ronda Rousey
One potential shock at AEW Forbidden Door could be the return of Ronda Rousey.
While the star isn’t a stranger entirely to the audience – having appeared in ROH in a match against Athena – perhaps she could return with an old score to settle with either the aforementioned or even Mercedes Mone.
With former WWE star Shayna Baszler also seemingly a free agent, the duo could make an intensely intriguing addition to the AEW women’s division.
Bringing in a mainstream name talent for a short spell could be one way to get people talking about AEW.

1. Kurt Angle
One WWE legend that AEW fans have speculated about potentially appearing over the years is Kurt Angle.
While Angle has been mostly outside of professional wrestling in recent years, he is reportedly set for a role in the new Real American Wrestling.
The promotion, which was announced by Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan will reportedly continue after Hogan’s unexpected passing.
With the American Olympian still being a fan favorite, it would be a surprise to see him pop up in London for Forbidden Door 2025.
