With the upcoming all-female premium live event WWE Evolution 2025 happening this weekend, there is the possibility of multiple returns.

From stars out of action due to injury to veterans who haven’t been featured for years, there are a lot of great options for stars who could make a comeback at the event.

Here are eight potential returns at WWE Evolution 2025.

8. Michelle McCool

After being inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025, Michelle McCool has remained present on WWE programming.

McCool has served as a coach on the second season of the A&E competition series WWE LFG (Legends and Future Greats), and is also now the co-host of the Six Feet Under podcast with her husband The Undertaker.

Taking to social media to comment that she hasn’t gotten the call from WWE for Evolution, it would be a fun surprise to see her pop up.

McCool is no stranger to battle royal appearances with the WWE Hall of Famer having already entered three Royal Rumbles (2018, 2022 and 2023) and the original Evolution 2018 battle royal that was won by Nia Jax.

7. Kiana James

After having been called up to the main roster in the 2024 WWE Draft, Kiana James would feature on Raw and seemingly was poised for a push.

However, after she was taken out of action due to injury, James hasn’t been seen on WWE TV for over a year.

With reports that she could be back in action soon, a big return at Evolution 2025 could be truly memorable.

Able to join the battle royal or even pop up to make an impact elsewhere, hopefully Kiana James is back in WWE sooner rather than later, providing she has recovered from her injury.

6. AJ Lee

While all indications point to AJ Lee being booked and busy in her current role as a producer, writer and director, it is possible that she could make a shock appearance at Evolution.

WWE sparked speculation that AJ Lee could actually be a possibility to appear at the show when the cold open for the event was revealed – featuring Lee.

Although she was included at the beginning of a series of legends shown on-screen, having her contribution to the women’s division acknowledged at the outset of Evolution 2025 could be a good sign.

With fans jumping into speculation overdrive at the inclusion of her photo in the montage, we’ll have to stay tuned to find out if we really end up seeing a surprise appearance from AJ Lee.

5. Paige

She wasn’t able to participate in the ring at the inaugural edition of WWE Evolution in 2018 but that could change this time around.

Most recently known to fans under her real name Saraya during her time with AEW, the former AEW Women’s World Champion – and former NXT Women’s Champion & WWE Divas Champion – is still believed to be a free agent following her AEW departure.

While Saraya has been playing it coy about her potential to appear at Evolution 2025, she has been engaged in a intriguing amount of media appearances referencing Evolution ahead of the big event.

While fans continue to wish for the return of Saraya to WWE and to resume her former character in the company, Paige, perhaps this Sunday in Atlanta, it will really come to fruition.

4. Molly Holly

WWE Hall of Famer Molly Holly was last seen competing in in-ring action during the 2022 Royal Rumble.

Also featuring in the 2020 Royal Rumble and the original Evolution battle royal, Holly would make complete sense to see pop up in some capacity at the event.

Possibly making an appearance in a backstage segment or even on commentary, Molly Holly continues to impact the women’s division in WWE in positive ways that could be acknowledged via her role as a backstage producer.

With so many options for veteran stars to appear, hopefully some of the foremothers of the industry are showcased.

3. Brie Bella

Another WWE Hall of Famer that has been speculated to appear in Atlanta for the event is Brie Bella.

Although she had recently noted on her podcast that she had not gotten the call from WWE yet, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened in the interim.

While it isn’t yet known if Brie Bella will appear at Evolution – what is known is that Nikki Bella will be participating.

Bella announced in a video on WWE Raw that she will be in the battle royal at Evolution 2025, in which the winner goes on to get a WWE Women’s Championship or Women’s World Championship match at Clash in Paris in August.

2. Alundra Blayze

One of the formative women in the history of the WWE women’s division, Alundra Blayze – also known as Madusa – would be a return that would make complete sense.

While she did appear in the ring for action in the first edition of the Evolution battle royal back in 2018, perhaps this time there would be an even better spot for her.

Since the original Evolution featured a commentary panel of Renee Young, Beth Phoenix and Michael Cole, it would make sense for this premium live event to also have female voices on commentary, and Blayze could fill one of those spots.

Her most recent WWE appearance came earlier this year at Saturday Night’s Main Event, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her at Evolution in some capacity.

1. Lita

With Trish Stratus on the Evolution 2025 card set to take on Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship, perhaps we could see the return of Lita as well.

She hasn’t been in in-ring competition for a couple of years, with her last match being the six-woman tag team bout at WrestleMania 39 where she teamed with Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus against Damage CTRL.

Therefore, if Lita isn’t interested in getting in the ring for a battle royal spot, she could be another addition to the commentary team.

Able to lend a personal perspective from having been in a WWE star during a time where the women’s division was not viewed as equitably – she would have some great insights.
