With WWE Crown Jewel 2025 nearly set to kick-off, in the end there were a host of matches that didn’t make the cut.
From matches that were teased but didn’t end up booked to others that are rumored to still be coming in the future – there are some intriguing showdowns that didn’t make the show.
Here are six matches that seemed likely for WWE Crown Jewel 2025 but ended up canceled.
6. Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs. Sol Ruca & Zaria

Fans of the unlikely duo of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair won’t see the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on the Crown Jewel card.
While a bout between the team and NXT tag team Sol Ruca & Zaria was teased on TV, it seemed that it may even be headed for the card in Perth.
With Zaria joining WWE after finding success in independent wrestling in her home country of Australia, it seemed logical that perhaps the bout could happen at WWE Crown Jewel 2025.
In the end, it wouldn’t come to be with instead there being no tag team titles represented on the trim card which sits at five matches.

5. John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

When Brock Lesnar arrived to attack John Cena to close SummerSlam 2025, the moment set up a match for WWE’s debut on ESPN, Wrestlepalooza.
However when that match saw John Cena fall swift victim to Brock Lesnar in a relative squash match, some thought perhaps the two would tangle again.
Instead, Cena will face off against AJ Styles in a bout that is even more exciting for fans who hoped to see the legendary pair clash during Cena’s farewell tour.
Sure to be a solid bout, the match will feature two WWE icons for the last time – making for a historic moment before the bell even rings. A fun farewell for fans regardless of the match outcome, the showdown has the chance to kick off the final months of Cena’s retirement on a good note.

4. Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre

Although it seems that the feud between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes isn’t over, another player entered the scene with the return of Jacob Fatu.
Interrupting a segment with McIntyre on SmackDown, Fatu went on to wage an attack on McIntyre including hitting him with his own protective boot.
A report from Dave Meltzer notes that the plan for this feud is to determine a winner at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 in a match with big stakes.
According to the report, the winner will go on to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Survivor Series on November 29.

3. Tiffany Stratton vs. Bianca Belair

Tiffany Stratton continues to carry the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown after winning on January 3, marking over 280 day reign thus far.
However Stratton has been locked into somewhat repetitive feuds with Jade Cargill and/or Nia Jax since retaining the title against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41.
There may have been alternate plans on the blue brand that remain on pause with Bianca Belair still out of action due to injury after breaking multiple fingers at WrestleMania 41.
Instead, there is set for a champion versus champion battle between WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton from SmackDown taking on the WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer from WWE Raw.

2. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins

One match that could have made sense on the Crown Jewel 2025 would be CM Punk taking aim at Seth Rollins for the WWE World title.
After their mixed tag match at WWE Wrestlepalooza resulted in victory for CM Punk & AJ Lee, it seemed that perhaps Punk could get another shot the gold he won at SummerSlam but quickly lost to Rollins’ cash-in.
However, instead there would be the champion vs. champion concept which brings together Seth Rollins to take on Cody Rhodes.
With interesting circumstances from every side – including potentially wavering alliance from Paul Heyman, the looming threat of Brock Lesnar and even the return of GUNTHER – there is a lot that could change by the end of Crown Jewel 2025.

1. Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka

With Asuka turning heel on WWE Raw, it seems likely that she could be headed for a future singles showdown against Rhea Ripley given their recent conflict.
After Kairi Sane’s attempts to reunite IYO SKY and the heelish Asuka failed, SKY also became a target of with a big tag team for Crown Jewel being set.
At the event it will be Rhea Ripley teaming with IYO SKY to take on the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in Ripley’s home country of Australia.
Providing an immediate path forward for Stephanie Vaquer and the WWE Women’s World Championship feud on WWE Raw, perhaps Ripley vs. Asuka is a showdown that could still happen in the future.
