With just one day until WWE Clash in Paris 2025 kicks off, it’s interesting to look at what matches didn’t make the cut for the Premium Live Event.
From joyous announcements that changed plans, to matches that seemed likely but haven’t yet come to fruition – there are several bouts that fans expected to take place, but ultimately ended up being scrapped.
Here are seven matches that missed out on the WWE Clash in Paris 2025 card.
7. WWE Women’s World Championship – Naomi vs. Stephanie Vaquer

Stephanie Vaquer won a battle royal at WWE Evolution to determine who would get a title shot at Clash in Paris 2025, with the match being confirmed to be taking place with Naomi after she successfully defended the gold at SummerSlam against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
However, the planned bout was scrapped for joyous reasons with Naomi vacating her championship after announcing that she is pregnant.
Vaquer has still been promised a title shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship but her opponent remains undetermined.
With the title remaining vacant, there are still some details yet to be revealed regarding exactly how the next champ will be decided.

6. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre

While Drew McIntyre viciously laid out Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the August 8 episode of SmackDown, he has yet to get a receipt for his dastardly actions from the “American Nightmare”.
Instead, it would be Randy Orton who ended up delivering an RKO to McIntyre in retribution for the attack on the subsequent episode of WWE SmackDown.
While any bout between Rhodes and McIntyre has yet to be confirmed, there also hasn’t ended up being a specific blowoff between McIntyre and Orton either, with many fans anticipating that a match between the two would be added to the Clash in Paris card.
The singles match between Orton and McIntyre could be being saved for next month’s Wrestlepalooza PLE, or perhaps even a three-way with Rhodes for his WWE Championship. Only time will tell.

5. John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

In another case of a match that was teased ahead of Clash in Paris 2025 but ended up seemingly being reserved for a later date is John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar.
After Cena dropped the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2025, he had no respite as he was suddenly met by the re-appearance of Brock Lesnar in WWE.
Immediately delivering an F-5 to Cena, the implication seemed clear that the two were headed for a showdown in the near future.
However while it initially seemed as though the showdown could come in Paris, it is being reported that the match will instead take place at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, which happens to also be the debut of WWE Premium Live Events streaming on ESPN.

4. WWE United States Championship – Solo Sikoa vs. Sami Zayn

After Solo Sikoa was able to retain the WWE United States Championship in a steel cage match against Jacob Fatu, the bout would still end with Fatu standing tall.
Whereas Fatu has not reappeared in-ring action after SummerSlam, Sami Zayn would end up officially joining the SmackDown roster and stepping up to Solo Sikoa and the MFTs.
While the match seemed as though it was being built towards for a potential late addition to the Clash in Paris 2025 card, it instead came two nights early.
Zayn challenged Sikoa for the United States Championship on the SmackDown episode from Lyon, France on August 29 and ultimately won the match to become new champion.

3. WWE Intercontinental Championship – Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles

While Dominik Mysterio was able to hang on to his Intercontinental Title after a match against AJ Styles at SummerSlam, it hasn’t meant Styles has let up.
If anything, Styles has remained persistent in his chase of Mysterio much to Dirty Dom’s chagrin.
While Styles will be able to get his hands on Mysterio officially soon enough, he will have to wait a bit longer than Clash in Paris 2025.
WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce confirmed that the match between Dirty Dom and AJ Styles will be set for the Raw in Paris on September 1.

2. Bianca Belair vs. Jade Cargill

Certainly Bianca Belair would have likely factored into numerous different creative plans had she not picked up an injury at WrestleMania 41.
However after breaking several fingers during her match at the event, she has yet to return to in-ring competition despite being initially advertised for an appearance at Clash in Paris 2025.
While she has made on-screen appearances since including being the special guest referee for a match between Cargill and Naomi at Evolution – there still seemed to be some unfinished business between the pair.
Potentially able to resume their storyline when Belair does return to action, now with Naomi out for the foreseeable future it could be that the Big Three storyline is on hiatus indefinitely.

1. WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk

After CM Punk defeated GUNTHER at SummerSlam to capture his first title in WWE in over a decade – the celebration was short lived.
In a now infamous moment, Rollins revealed that his injury had been a ruse and instead ran down to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract.
While one may have assumed that Punk would be getting a one-on-one rematch, such was not the case when the crowded field for the title match would be officially confirmed.
At Clash in Paris 2025 it seems the deck is stacked against Rollins as he puts the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against CM Punk, Jey Uso and LA Knight in a four-way match.
