The first match has already been confirmed: Randy Orton will challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Title in Orton’s hometown of St Louis.

With new feuds emerging, returning stars debuting on the post-Mania Raw and SmackDown, and fresh storylines unfolding, the full card is sure to come together quickly over the next two weeks.

Here are six matches we could see added to the Backlash line-up.

6. Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Nia Jax – WWE Women’s Championship

At WrestleMania, Tiffany Stratton defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair in arguably the most heated bout of the entire weekend.

However, it appears she has unfinished business with former champion and mentor, Nia Jax.

Jax made her return on SmackDown by interfering in Stratton’s match with Jade Cargill, hitting the A-Nia-Lator on Stratton and holding up the title.

Feeling robbed after Stratton’s title cash-in, Jax now looks set to face her former protégé at Backlash.

The Street Profits clearly had something to prove, retaining their titles on WWE SmackDown in a thrilling three-way TLC match against DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns.

The excellent bout arguably deserved a spot on the WrestleMania card.

Following the impressive winning debut of Fraxiom – NXT standouts Nathan Frazer and Axiom – the former NXT champions now deserve a shot at the gold.

A clash between these two teams could very well be Backlash’s show-stealer.

4. Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Becky Lynch – Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Becky Lynch received a hero’s welcome on night two of WrestleMania, teaming with fellow Irishwoman Lyra Valkyria to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

However, the celebrations were short-lived, as Lynch turned on her partner the very next night on the Raw after WrestleMania, following their title loss.

The sudden heel-turn set the stage for a heated rivalry.

3. Jacob Fatu (c) vs. LA Knight vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest – United States Championship

At WrestleMania, Jacob Fatu had his breakout moment, defeating LA Knight in an intense bout to capture the WWE United States Title.

On SmackDown, Knight made his intentions clear to reclaim the championship – but he was joined by Drew McIntyre, with their number one contender’s match ending in a disqualification thanks to an attack from Damian Priest.

It now looks like Fatu’s first title defence will come in a four-way clash.

While this promises to be a thrilling encounter, it certainly appears to be a stepping stone on the road to an eventual Bloodline feud between Fatu and Solo Sikoa.

2. IYO SKY (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Championship

WrestleMania 41’s most critically acclaimed match was the three-way for the WWE Women’s World Championship, as IYO SKY defended her title against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair.

Widely considered one of the best wrestlers in the world, SKY followed up with another standout performance on the Raw after Mania against Stephanie Vaquer.

The match ended in disqualification after interference from Roxanne Perez and Giulia, only for Rhea Ripley to make the save.

With Bianca Belair now confirmed to be out injured, all signs point to Backlash hosting a one-on-one showdown between SKY and Ripley.

1. CM Punk & Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker

The close of WrestleMania night one saw Paul Heyman turn his back on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns, helping Seth Rollins pick up the win.

The Raw after Mania delivered a further twist, as former Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker saved Heyman by spearing both Punk and Reigns.

This new Heyman alliance seems to have pushed Reigns and Punk together into an unlikely dream tag team combination.

A big-time, star-studded tag match now looks set for WWE Backlash.
