Mariah May has departed AEW and is reportedly set to make her to way to WWE very soon.
May would be far from the only star to make that same move, as the past few months have seen a number of big names make the switch.
Here are six more AEW stars who could join Mariah May in heading to WWE.
6. Wardlow
Wardlow has been absent from AEW TV for an extended period of time, and fans have long expressed interest in seeing him in join WWE.
Last seen back at AEW Big Business in March 2024, Wardlow lost a match to Samoa Joe via referee’s decision and hasn’t been seen again in competition.
Previously fellow AEW star Matt Taven said that Wardlow was rehabbing a knee injury, but more details were never confirmed by AEW or Wardlow himself.
With age and power on his side, perhaps Wardlow would be able to find a second life in his wrestling career in WWE.

5. Danhausen
Still absent from AEW TV is another fan favorite – Danhausen.
Given what we know about his contract, it is always possible that he could pop up in WWE sooner rather than later.
Danhausen’s AEW contract is reportedly set to expire in “summer 2025” which was the same language used to refer to Mariah May’s AEW contract, which expired today.
With the fan favorite seemingly perfect for NXT, it would be hard to imagine WWE not wanting to capitalize on such a popular merch seller and his fun, unique character.

4. Scorpio Sky
While he’s been active in independent wrestling throughout 2024 and 2025, Scorpio Sky was last seen in AEW/ROH in-ring action back in October 2023.
Tony Khan was recently asked in the post-AEW Double or Nothing media scrum if there were any future creative plans for Scorpio Sky – to which Khan reiterated that he liked Scorpio Sky and would love to see him in competition in AEW.
While Sky’s contract with AEW reportedly still has considerable time left on it, there is always a possibility that similarly to the Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) a release request may be granted.
With former tag team partner Ethan Page finding great success in NXT, perhaps Scorpio Sky could be looking to make a similar move.

3. Tay Melo
Tay Melo hasn’t been in-ring action in AEW for quite some time but with good reason for part of her lengthy absence, having taken time off to start a family.
However, while her husband Sammy Guevara has returned to TV, AEW fans have yet to see the in-ring return of Tay Melo.
While she hasn’t wrestled in AEW or ROH, Melo did get back into the ring in January competing in Japan, so it would appear she’s ready for a comeback.
Perhaps interested in returning to WWE if it would translate to more in-ring action and that’s what she wants, the former NXT star may follow the likes of Jade Cargill and Mariah May in departing AEW.

2. Private Party
While Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) have held the AEW World Tag Team Championship, their reign lasted only 84 days.
After losing the titles to the Hurt Syndicate back in January 2025, the pair haven’t been seen in AEW since.
Recently having a match at House of Glory in March, the duo appeared to be ready for in-ring action but perhaps it will just be outside of a Tony Khan promotion.
The pair could easily find a new start in NXT however, immediately being a viable threat to the current champions Hank & Tank.

1. Serena Deeb
Another former WWE name that could make a return to the company is Serena Deeb.
A formidable singles competitor in AEW, Deeb had a memorable first stint in WWE as a valet alongside CM Punk in the Straight Edge Society. She later returned to the company and would work as a coach at the Performance Center from 2018 to 2020.
While she has made several appearances in AEW so far in 2025, they have been one-off matches rather than continuing to appear in a program or feud, with a rivalry with Britt Baker seemingly being teased then completely dropped.
Potentially looking to change things up in her career, perhaps Deeb would return to WWE – either in an on-screen capacity or as a trainer/coach – as she definitely still has a lot to contribute.
