WWE has just announced the induction of an individual match into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 – Bret Hart vs Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 – and there could be more to come.
Keeping with a general theme of folks that are likely to be in and around Las Vegas for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony, there are some very memorable matches that could still be added to the class of 2025.
Here are seven more WWE matches that could be inducted in the 2025 Hall of Fame.
7. Undertaker vs. Mankind – Hell In A Cell – King Of The Ring 1998

While the iconic Undertaker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell match is often considered the groundbreaker for the match type, it was actually the third ever.
The first Hell in a Cell bout between the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels at Bad Blood the prior year had led to the debut of Kane, with the second featuring Taker teaming with Stone Cold to take on the team of Kane and Mankind.
However this particular Hell in a Cell match is often remembered for the huge fall Mick Foley took off the top of the cage as Mankind, in a truly career defining moment.
Such an integral moment to WWE history, the match was recently the subject of an entire episode of Dark Side of the Ring.

6. John Cena vs. CM Punk – Money In The Bank 2011

In a major battle that was made even more intense by a rabid Chicago crowd, John Cena losing the WWE Championship to CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2011 was a history making moment.
While the bout symbolized a much deeper battle going on, in some ways pitting fans against the establishment creations of Vince McMahon, it would prove to be Punk who emerged victorious.
Not only did the storyline have a significant impact on history moving forward, but the match itself was impressive with both men putting on top performances.
With both Cena and Punk back in WWE at the same time in present day, it would be fascinating to set up a future rematch between the pair by looking back at this major moment.

5. Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage – WrestleMania 8

If WWE was to look for a more vintage match, the company could absolutely induct the 1992 classic between Macho Man Randy Savage and The Nature Boy Ric Flair.
In an entry that would also be suited to include the commentary team as well – with Gorilla Monsoon, Mean Gene Okerlund and Bobby Heenan on the call – the match wouldn’t be the same without their iconic calls.
With officials, including a classic appearance by Shane McMahon, failing to prevent Miss Elizabeth from running out to ringside to watch the finish, the drama ratcheted up even more.
In the end, Savage got the better of Flair but the action didn’t end there as there were still more twists and turns to come after the match, including Flair kissing Elizabeth resulting in a big slap and the reunion of Macho Man and Elizabeth under the pyrotechnics.

4. The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels – WrestleMania 26

There is probably more than one Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels match that could be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, however one of the most spectacular is certainly their showdown at WrestleMania 25.
Packed with all the the grandeur and drama that one could expect from a major match at WrestleMania, the pair of veteran stars still put on an amazing in-ring effort as well.
The Undertaker would ultimately win the match, extending his Mania win streak to 17-0 at the time.
The match was also a precursor to a rematch the following year at WrestleMania 26, where the main event saw Undertaker once again beat Michaels, this time ending Michaels’ career… well, sort of – HBK came back for one more match, teaming with Triple H against Taker and Kane at Crown Jewel 2018.

3. Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart – WrestleMania 10

Since the first ever match set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame was just announced to be Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13, we already know Hart is set to appear at the ceremony.
What better time to honor then another immortal moment in his career – his WrestleMania 10 bout against brother Owen Hart.
This opening match served as the perfect bookend to the night’s eventual main event where Bret Hart won the WWF Championship from Yokozuna.
While Owen Hart is more affiliated with AEW nowadays with the annual Owen Hart Foundation tournament, WWE had referenced this match ahead of the Usos’ brother vs brother encounter last year, so with Bret already in the building, there may be a chance of it being included.

2. The Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan – WrestleMania 18

Given that it seems both Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Hulk Hogan are poised to be in Las Vegas for WWE WrestleMania 41, another inclusion that would make sense is their WrestleMania 18 match.
In what was billed as an ‘Icon vs Icon match’ at the time, the match still holds up to the test of time for both stars.
With a raucous Toronto crowd not reacting in quite the way it was anticipated – rather being squarely behind Hogan instead of The Rock – the match showcases both performers’ amazing ability to improvise.
While The Rock would ultimately win the match, the display of showmanship, acting and iconic commentary by both Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler should be celebrated.

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Triple H – Three Stages of Hell Match at No Way Out 2001

The debut of a legendary stipulation, this match was meant to finally determine a winner between this year’s Hall of Fame headline inductee Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The match consisted of three falls, the first a standard match, the second a street fight and the third and final in a steel cage.
There would go on to be four more ‘Three Stages of Hell’ matches in WWE history, the most recent following the same format as the original, pitting Johnny Gargano against Adam Cole in NXT in 2019.
While the stipulation could absolutely return to modern day WWE for another go-around, it could be honored at the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame first to refresh fans’ memories.
