5 New WWE Match Types

With some of the most iconic WWE match stipulations already well used, adding some brand new match types would freshen things up.

While some are similar to matches seen in the past, others are totally different – but all would be incredibly fun to see happen in real life.

Here are six new WWE match types that could be introduced in 2025.

5. Survivor Title Shot

This one probably needs a zippier name as it isn’t quite a title eliminator match but similar enough that it isn’t as strange as it may seem.

The match would begin with a champ and challenger, however the only way for the match to become an actual ‘title shot’ would be for the challenger to survive a set number of minutes. After that number of minutes, if the challenger survives that long, it then becomes a title match.

As with any match stipulation that includes a timed element, this one could lead to some spectacular and stunning moments.

Adding this element to one of the mid-card titles in an open challenge concept for instance could end up providing some seriously emotional moments but without having to build as many complete storylines.

4. NXT Parking Lot Brawl

It is already well established that the NXT parking lot is one of the most dangerous places in WWE  – hence how this particular stipulation made it into WWE 2K25.

That being said, it could be transferred to reality by having a multi-person match where there were a known set number of participants – but all turned loose in the actual NXT parking lot.

Whether or not they hide and jump out at an opportune time or simply enter the fight and get to business would be up to them, but with many places to sneak around, it could lead to some seriously fun surprises.

While it probably wouldn’t be the best fit for the resolve of an actual heated rivalry, it could be an amazing way to showcase a number of people, for example, the NXT tag team division.

3. Locker Room Glam Battle

Despite its location, this match stipulation would have very little to do with hair and makeup and everything to do with reviving a new version of the ‘Boiler Room Brawl’.

An equally frightening scene – a locker room full of hair and makeup tools, all of which double as vicious weapons!

If done right, this match could actually prove to be more violent and vicious than nearly any other hardcore match in WWE history.

Unless you’ve been burnt by a curling iron, stabbed with an eyeliner or slapped by a vanity case, you have no idea how wild it can get.

2. Falls Count Somewhere

While WWE already has falls count anywhere matches, what if the concept was adjusted from “anywhere” to “somewhere” – as in there’s only one specific place that the pinfall can happen.

And only the referee knows where the ‘somewhere’ actually is.

This stipulation sounds odd but it would be very dramatic and compelling, particularly in a situation where the referee was another wrestler with a score to settle.

Think CM Punk is wrestling Seth Rollins and they’re trying to capture pinfalls all over the arena… but special guest referee Roman Reigns keeps telling them – ‘no sorry, not there’ until they actually find the right place.

1. 7th Circle of Hell Match

Think a repurposed ‘Three Stages of Hell’ match but with a different name that points more directly to the themes in the classic, Dante’s Inferno.

In the poem, readers are introduced to the nine circles of hell, with the 7th marking the concept of ‘violence’. Within the 7th circle of hell are three sub-categories: violence against others, self and nature.

Given this theme, there could be a two out of three falls match featuring three individual stipulations around these concepts.

It could be as basic as falls count anywhere with brawling outdoors for the ‘nature’ element, a standard no DQ match for violence against ‘others, and an ‘I Quit’ for violence against ‘self’, but with plenty of room to explore beyond those as well.
