Trick Williams has had one of the best transformations ever seen on WWE NXT since his time on the brand began in 2021.
Going from Carmelo Hayes’ sidekick to the face of the brand, Williams is a former two-time NXT Champion, North American Champion and TNA World Champion.
Following his loss to Ricky Saints at Halloween Havoc, it would make sense for Williams to finish off his run on the brand and head to the WWE main roster in a significant role.
With the end of his stint on the brand in sight, here are eight potential options for Trick Williams’ final WWE NXT opponent.
8. Ricky Saints

At WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2025, Ricky Saints defeated Trick Williams to retain the NXT Championship.
This win has led to many fans believing Trick’s time on NXT might be coming to an end, but Williams might want one more opportunity at the gold before he says goodbye to the brand.
Making Trick’s departure a storyline would put a spotlight on his transition to Raw or SmackDown by delivering a Loser Leaves NXT match.
Trick Williams challenging Ricky Saints one last time and losing to leave NXT would be a huge title clash that might be one of the most anticipated championship matches in recent memory.

7. Ethan Page

When Ethan Page arrived in WWE back in May 2024, he immediately targeted Trick Williams for the NXT Championship.
“All Ego” defeated Williams, Shawn Spears and Je’Von Evans to win the NXT Championship at WWE NXT Heatwave 2024.
However, Williams went on to regain his championship from Page on the October 1, 2024 edition of WWE NXT.
Being one of Trick’s most prominent opponents during his time on NXT, it would make a ton of sense for Ethan Page to be chosen to face Williams in his final match on the brand.

6. Mike Santana

At TNA Bound For Glory 2025, Mike Santana defeated Trick Williams to win the TNA World Championship.
This concluded a months-long storyline where Santana chased Trick in an attempt to bring the top prize of TNA Wrestling back to the promotion.
Now that he was able to win the gold, it seems like Santana has ended Williams’ run in TNA for the time being.
However, Santana could make his way to NXT again and defend his TNA World Title against the former champion in his final match on the brand he has called home.

5. Joe Hendry

Trick Williams won the TNA World Championship from Joe Hendry at WWE NXT Battleground 2025.
Hendry and Williams have been at each other’s throats for much of 2025 with the two men doing battle across NXT and TNA Wrestling.
After dethroning him for the title, Williams taunted Hendry for months across both shows to the point that their issues feel somewhat unresolved.
Now that he seems to be making the transition to WWE NXT, Hendry could be the one chosen to get the chance at redemption against Trick Williams in his final match on the show.

4. Tony D’Angelo

When WWE NXT 2.0 was introduced, several new stars debuted to the brand, including Trick Williams and Tony D’Angelo.
Over the course of the past four years, both men have accomplished a lot with each man holding the NXT North American Championship, while D’Angelo held the NXT Tag Team Championships and Trick is a two-time NXT Champion.
D’Angelo has been absent from WWE NXT TV since July and could be due for a return in the near future.
Tony D coming back to face Trick in his final NXT match would feel appropriate due to their parallel runs over the past four years.

3. Oba Femi

No one has been more dominant during this current era of WWE NXT than Oba Femi. Becoming the longest reigning NXT North American Champion of all time, Femi established himself as a force to be reckoned with.
From there, Oba has sat atop of the brand as the NXT Champion before losing the gold to Ricky Saints at WWE NXT No Mercy 2025.
Since then, Femi has been absent from NXT TV, while Saints has gone on to retain the title against Trick Williams at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2025.
Femi returning to the brand to finally determine who is the better man between him and Trick would feel like a satisfying conclusion for both men’s run in WWE NXT.

2. Carmelo Hayes

When fans were first introduced to Trick Williams, it was alongside Carmelo Hayes as his best friend and new sidekick.
The two men became synonymous with one another and made fans invested in their relationship together until the day Hayes turned on Williams.
After the fallout of Melo’s betrayal, Hayes made his way to Friday Night SmackDown, while Trick has become the face of NXT and a two-time NXT Champion.
Hayes returning to the brand to face Williams would be very interesting and seem like a full circle moment for one of NXT’s most important stars ever.

1. Je’Von Evans

Je’Von Evans is the fastest rising star in not just NXT but in all of WWE. At just 21 years old, “The Young OG” has more than proven himself as someone who should reach superstardom in the company.
When he first arrived in WWE, Evans established himself as an exciting high flyer and also formed a bond with then-NXT Champion Trick Williams.
Becoming a big brother-little brother relationship, Williams and Evans would fight side-by-side with one another and can be seen interacting with one another quite often.
Now that this friendship has fractured, it would be a fitting ending to their story by having Evans beat Trick in his final WWE NXT match and pass the torch to the next face of the brand.
