With Pat McAfee in action for numerous upcoming sporting events including MLB All Star Weekend, he may need a WWE replacement.
From those already in commentary roles to returning Hall of Famers that could be legendary additions to WWE Raw, there are plenty of choices to fill in for Pat when he hits the road for college football season.
Here are six possible WWE replacements for Pat McAfee.
6. Wade Barrett
While Wade Barrett has been doing a great job on WWE SmackDown commentary along with Joe Tessitore, he has demonstrated a fun dynamic with Michael Cole as well.
Able to play a much more heelish commentary role when paired with Cole – versus more down the middle with Tessitore – Barrett could provide a voice to the bad guys and their sympathizers.
With Pat McAfee bringing enthusiasm and excitement to the commentary team, Barrett could ramp up his own heel character to bring a bonus element of fun.
Able to speak to literal in-ring accomplishments as well as current analysis, Wade Barrett makes a solid broadcast partner for Michael Cole.

5. Seth Rollins
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Money in the Bank briefcase holder Seth Rollins appeared to pick up an injury..
If he is set to be out of action for an extended period of time, there could be a way to keep him active in storylines before he’s able to return to in-ring action.
Bringing Seth Rollins around on commentary in the lead-up to his in-ring return in the future could be an intriguing way to incorporate him in the show while he can’t physically wrestle.
Potentially using the unplanned absence as a character detail to become a little more mysterious in his thought processes, the appearances could be used as incredible teases into his future.

4. Big E
After having a legendary in-ring career, Big E has suggested he is unlikely to return to in-ring action in the future.
Remaining a personality on WWE TV – in addition to equally notable charity work off screen – Big E is a fan favorite that brings clear passion to his work.
Recently highlighting his abilities at analysis, Big E brough an amazing perspective to the pre-and-post show panel for WWE Evolution.
Able to bring the same wonder that McAfee adds while also a greater depth of in-ring and travel experience, Big E would be an ideal voice on WWE commentary.

3. Brie Bella
Recently co-hosting ESPN’s X-Games, Brie Bella has certainly continued to progress her broadcasting career outside of her in-ring achievements.
While Brie didn’t make an appearance at the recent WWE Evolution 2025 event, there is still hope for a future reunion of the Bella Twins.
Since Nikki Bella has noted that her recent return to WWE is not for a one-off appearance, it seems like there is still time to reactivate Brie Mode.
Perhaps suited for lending her voice to the commentary team on WWE Raw, Brie could make a big return and continue to build the Bella brand.

2. Beth Phoenix
WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix confirmed in July 2024 that she was no longer under contract with the company.
Still seemingly a free agent, it would be great to not only have The Glamazon back in the WWE fold, but more importantly, provide a female perspective on the action on commentary.
There are currently no female commentators across any of the WWE broadcasts – an oversight that could be rectified by incorporating a veteran voice.
With Phoenix already having demonstrated her abilities on commentary in the past in NXT, it could great to incorporate her to fill-in for McAfee during football season.

1. Vic Joseph
NXT commentator Vic Joseph has continued to demonstrate his skills on commentary, currently finding himself on a three-man panel featuring Booker T and Corey Graves.
Shifting Joseph to WWE Raw wouldn’t cause a negative impact to the NXT team but could in fact be a benefit if strategically timed.
Aligning with the changes to occur around/during the WWE Draft would be a very strategic way to bolster the NXT call-ups straight away by incorporating a voice from NXT.
Joseph being able to succinctly bring forward the key details about each NXT star’s history and stats would directly aid in establishing call-ups to the main roster audience.
