Since R-Truth made his surprise return in the main event of WWE Money in the Bank 2025, it has been said he’s set for one last run.
From former friends turned foes, to some up and coming NXT stars, there are plenty of potential names in the search for the perfect last opponent.
Here are eight potential final opponents for R-Truth – or as he’s going to be known going forwards, Ron Killings – in WWE.
8. John Cena

With the undeniable history between R-Truth and John Cena, Truth may want to get one final crack at his “childhood hero”.
Despite facing off against Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, the match would not prove to be a showcase of Ron Killings’ actual wrestling ability as much as a short burst the celebrate the overall beloved character of R-Truth.
However now returning and presumably able to pivot towards a more serious style, it would be perfect to see Cena & Killings face-off.
With both seeking to prove that they can put on a top performance at this point in their careers, the match could be a very special send-off.

7. Cody Rhodes

While R-Truth intervened seemingly on behalf of Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes in the closing moments of WWE Money in the Bank 2025, it doesn’t mean he was trying to help them as much as just going after John Cena, and they happened to benefit from it.
Everyone can be bought and seemingly The Rock in his Final Boss iteration would certainly have the power and the payout abilities to write R-Truth out of storyline after one little request.
Pitting Ron Killings against Cody Rhodes is a super villain move that the Final Boss would certainly consider for maximum collateral damage.
With Rhodes forced to choose whether he has truly become ruthless in his pursuit of the Undisputed WWE Championship to get another shot at John Cena – or spare R-Truth – there could be a grander purpose to Truth being written off WWE TV.

6. The Miz

Partners, foes, friends and rivals – The Miz and R-Truth have been through a lot during their time in WWE together.
As the Awesome Truth tag team, the pair had iconic moments as both heels and babyfaces in their WWE tenure.
However, if there is going to be a last match in the company for the beloved veteran Truth, The Miz would need to be considered as a final opponent.
After having so many memorable moments together, both men are at a point in their careers where their achievements outrank anything left on their to-do lists – creating an interesting dynamic that could be explored.

5. Randy Orton

With the potential to have one final run in WWE for R-Truth, it would make sense for it to be against a top star like Randy Orton.
Randy Orton was a dastardly heel most of his career that has only fairly recently gained the adulation of fans, with Truth also having experienced both hate and love during his long career.
However, since it seems that Ron Killings may have an entirely different attitude compared to the former good natured R-Truth, perhaps the script will be flipped for a farewell run.
Truth did ultimately cost Randy Orton his match against John Cena at Backlash, so there may be unfinished business after Orton nailed him with an RKO.

4. Trick Williams

Perhaps poised to put someone over on his way out of the company, a final opponent for R-Truth that could actually end up being pivoted into a whole new company would be Trick Williams.
With Trick Williams currently on a heel run that includes taking over the TNA World Championship, perhaps the perfect feud for him is Ron Killings.
While there are likely already immediate plans for the TNA World Title since Williams won it from Joe Hendry and later successfully defended it against Mike Santana (but only thanks to interference from First Class), a crossover feud could always happen again down the road.
If WWE found a way to successfully write off talent by giving them a segue into another promotion like AAA or TNA, then perhaps it would take the sting out of some contracts ending without intention to renew.

3. Je’Von Evans

A star on the rise from NXT, Je’Von Evans isn’t a complete rookie in the industry despite his age.
Having already traversed through the indies before signing with WWE, Evans has a lot of experience for his young age of 21.
Already having shared the ring in NXT against Randy Orton, perhaps Evans would be a fantastic final feud with Ron Killings.
Able to demonstrate that he is still able to wrestle at the same speed as Evans at twice his age, it would be a fun juxtaposition to see these two square off for R-Truth’s eventual final farewell.

2. Grayson Waller

There’s a match R-Truth began but never finished in WWE, and it came in NXT against Grayson Waller. While the match wouldn’t have much to do with Waller afterwards, it could serve as a powerful symbol for what Truth had to overcome in the past few years to even get back into the ring.
Mid-way through a 2022 NXT TV match, Truth suffered an injury and the match had to be immediately ended. He would go on to reveal that he had torn his quad tendon and required surgery.
Later in an interview, Truth would share that due to complications after the surgery, he almost had to have his entire leg amputated.
Coming back around to a match with Waller could be a poetic ending to this chapter of R-Truth’s career.

1. AJ Styles

Another professional wrestling veteran who is a bit adrift at the minute who could potentially be the perfect final feud for R-Truth is AJ Styles.
With shared history in TNA Wrestling as well, it could be another really cool crossover opportunity for TNA Wrestling and WWE to feature two big names squaring off.
While AEW has served as a bit of a bastion for veteran talent looking to write their own retirements in the industry, perhaps WWE could be poised to demonstrate that talent doesn’t have to defect to be sent off with care.
