Following the January 14 Maximum Carnage edition of AEW Dynamite, it was reported that Powerhouse Hobbs is leaving All Elite Wrestling and expected to head to WWE.
The former TNT Champion is someone who has felt underutilized by AEW for several years and could achieve much more than he has in the company.
Heading to WWE with his size, look and strength, Hobbs could be propelled into a prominent spot right after signing with the promotion.

6. Debuting On NXT In Six-Way Ladder Match On February 3 Episode
Following Oba Femi vacating the NXT Championship and several other main roster call-ups, there is a gap in talent that needs to be filled on the brand.
This should lead to Powerhouse Hobbs being brought in to play a significant role and provide some star power for the NXT brand.
Signing with WWE at this time, Hobbs could come in and immediately be thrusted into a top spot on NXT by placing him in the six-way ladder match on the February 3 episode.
Hobbs competing for the NXT Championship upon arriving would make him a potential face of the brand moving forward in the weeks and months to come.

5. Reuniting With Ricky Saints
On WWE NXT, Powerhouse Hobbs could be elevated up to a top star status immediately upon signing with the company.
One way for Hobbs to do so could be reuniting with someone he knows very well from his time in All Elite Wrestling.
Hobbs and Ricky Saints were once tag team partners and stablemates as part of Team Taz in AEW. However, Saints left the company and has since become one of the main event stars on NXT since joining the brand in February 2025.
Reuniting with Ricky Saints would allow Hobbs to immediately be positioned in a significant way upon arriving in WWE.

4. Aligning With Jade Cargill On SmackDown
There have been various reports since the reveal of Powerhouse Hobbs leaving AEW and potentially heading to WWE.
One report indicated that WWE plans on bringing Hobbs directly to the main roster instead of giving him a stint on NXT.
If WWE wants to put him in a prominent role right from the start, Hobbs might be best suited to head to Friday Night SmackDown and align with another former AEW star.

3. A New Partnership With Trick Williams
While he has some history with Jade Cargill from their time together in AEW, Powerhouse Hobbs could align with one of the newer stars on the SmackDown brand as well.
On the January 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams officially debuted as the newest name on the roster. Since then, he has quickly established himself as someone to watch.
Williams getting some muscle to back him up would further help his ascent up the ladder, which is where Powerhouse Hobbs would come in.
Hobbs and Williams could help themselves become solidified on the blue brand in a new partnership that sees them run roughshod over every other star in their way as they try to take their spot as top talent on Friday nights.

2. Becoming The Newest Member Of The Vision
While there are plenty of possibilities on Friday Night SmackDown, Powerhouse Hobbs also has some directions to head in on Monday Night Raw.
When looking at Raw, there is no bigger entity on the red brand right now quite like The Vision.
With Paul Heyman at the helm, he has recruited some of the most talented, biggest and baddest that WWE has to offer right now with Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul and Austin Theory.
If Heyman sees someone like Powerhouse Hobbs, the WWE Hall of Famer will immediately want to recruit the former AEW star into The Vision where he can be part of the biggest stable in the entire company right now.

1. Attacking Cody Rhodes Or CM Punk To Immediately Become A Top Star
Looking at his other connections with former AEW stars, Powerhouse Hobbs could position himself as an instant key player by attacking his former colleagues.
Whether it be on WWE Raw or SmackDown, there are plenty of options for Hobbs to go in to elevate himself in the company upon signing.
On SmackDown, Cody Rhodes sits at the mountaintop as the top babyface. Hobbs attacking Rhodes would change his direction and give him someone to feud with away from the Undisputed WWE Championship picture after losing the gold.
However, Hobbs might find himself battling for the World Heavyweight Title if he attacks CM Punk on Raw, which could provide him the fastest track to the main event scene upon arriving in the company.
