Since Pat McAfee has confirmed that he is taking a hiatus from his WWE Raw commentary role, his replacement remains a mystery.
From current WWE commentators who could continue filling in to other ideas for the role entirely, WWE needs to look for a replacement on the call.
Here are six potential new WWE Raw announcers.
6. Big E
If there is one man in WWE who could fill the infectious and fun-loving shoes of Pat McAfee – it is Big E.
The former New Day star saw his in-ring career tragically cut short due to injury but continues to be beloved by fans.
Impressing fans with his passion during pre-and-post show PLE panels, Big E provides the valuable perspective of a peer and colleague of the current characters.
Clearly already adept at interweaving his seemingly honest opinions with the storylines occurring on-screen, Big E brings the perfect blend of entertainment and engagement.

5. Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix revealed last summer that she was in fact a free agent after the end of her most recent WWE contract.
Some fans were hopeful though that she could make a return to WWE commentary for the all-female premium live event WWE Evolution.
However the event may have come and gone without an appearance by the WWE Hall of Famer – it doesn’t mean that she couldn’t return in the future.
After having been on NXT commentary in the past, perhaps adding a female perspective alongside Michael Cole on WWE Raw would be a strategic step.

4. Corey Graves
The most logical replacement for Pat McAfee seems to be Corey Graves.
With a demonstrated history on commentary with Michael Cole, Graves has continued his work back on the main roster seamlessly as of late.
Lacking the mainstream name recognition that the likes of Pat McAfee and Joe Tessitore boast – Graves stays in step with his WWE style commentary.
Perhaps lending to an opportunity for Graves to show off more personality in the role in the absence of McAfee – Corey Graves could find a new life on WWE Raw in a post-McAfee era.

3. Nigel McGuinness
Perhaps a voice from the past could make a big WWE return on commentary in former WWE commentator and current AEW Collision voice – Nigel McGuinness.
With a career that spans across major promotions like WWE, AEW, TNA Wrestling and ROH – McGuinness’ history in pro wrestling is already stories.
Since Tony Khan revealed that Nigel McGuinness signed with All Elite Wrestling on April 5, 2023 – depending on the length of the fan favorite’s contract, it could be quite some time before he could make a WWE return.
Notably a compelling character as color commentator as well as the ability to make surprise in-ring appearances – McGuinness would be an iconic grab for WWE.

2. Matthew Rehwoldt
While Matthew Rehwoldt has been a commentator in TNA Wrestling for the past several years, WWE fans may remember him under a different moniker.
Formerly performing as in-ring talent under the ring name Aiden English, Rehwoldt’s voice may already be memorable to fans from his ‘Rusev Day!’ announcements.
Quickly becoming a well-respected and solid voice in TNA Wrestling, perhaps there could be a move back to WWE in the future.
With TNA Wrestling continuing to have crossovers with WWE – perhaps Matthew Rehwoldt could be tapped to make a special appearance to fill-in on Raw.

1. Paige
From the time Saraya signed with AEW – there were some fans already hoping for her eventual WWE return.
While the veteran is now a free agent – she has never ruled out a return to her former Paige character, even noting that a return to WWE would be fun.
Able to utilize a sort of nostalgic spot on commentary to host a rotating cast of memorable returns – Paige could be just one color commentator to join the desk.
With the likes of Nikki Bella, The Miz, Titus O’Neil and more all holding hosting roles outside of WWE that are similar to color commentary – perhaps the chair could be swapped out for whichever WWE stars have projects to promote.
