With WWE still looking to fill the vacancy left by Pat McAfee on WWE Raw commentary, there are some top choices.

While Michael Cole may be expected to remain on the flagship Netflix show, there are a number of interesting prospects for who could join him at the desk.

Here are five new options for who can join Michael Cole on the WWE Raw commentary team.

5. Big E

While his in-ring career has come to an end, Big E continues to bring joy to WWE audiences.

Continuing to impress on the pre-show and post-show premium live event panels, Big E could definitely be a legendary addition to WWE Raw.

With lingering emotional stakes with the on-screen characters, Big E could also bring a similar perspective to Wade Barrett – who connects to stories through his own in-ring experience – but with an even more modern lens.

Still a beloved fan favorite, any opportunity to get more Big E on WWE TV should be taken with haste!

4. Wade Barrett

After having made a dynamic duo at SummerSlam 2025, Wade Barrett and Michael Cole could be the new team for WWE RAw.

Having already made some big appearances this year including his first WrestleMania on the desk – Wade Barrett continues to make his mark on the team.

Showing off his sympathy for heels during particularly this past weekend’s SummerSlam 2025 – Barrett is a fun anecdote to Cole’s babyface alignment.

Able to crush an off the cuff reaction as well as an ad read, Wade Barrett is set to be an asset to WWE commentary for a long time to come.

3. Taz

Recently when he was asked who his favorite ever broadcast partner was in WWE, Michael Cole revealed that it was Taz.

While Taz remains on commentary for AEW, his contract details aren’t publicly known.

With Taz having signed his initial contract with AEW in early 2020, it was at the time described as “multi-year” but without update in the interim.

Similarly to Chris Jericho and the Hardy Boyz, Taz remains missing from the WWE Hall of Fame but would surely see a smoother path to induction when he is no longer employed by AEW.

2. Corey Graves

Since the departure of Pat McAfee from WWE Raw commentary recently, Corey Graves has filled in.

Previously partnered with Michael Cole, it seems that Corey Graves is a logical replacement on WWE Raw commentary.

While Graves was at times on a three-man team with Cole and Pat McAfee for premium live events, he would eventually land on NXT alongside Vic Joseph and Booker T.

Having already filled in for McAfee in the past, Graves may just end up resuming his former role for the time being.

1. Vic Joseph

Another potential option from the NXT commentary team is Vic Joseph.

Although a classic pairing with Booker T for the Tuesday night show, with the recent addition of Corey Graves as a third perhaps Joseph could graduate a main roster spot.

Most recently filling in for Joe Tessitore on SmackDown back in February 2025, Joseph has demonstrated he has what it takes.

If WWE was looking for a short-term replacement for Pat McAfee while keeping Michael Cole on Monday nights – Vic Joseph could be the best fit.
