More New AEW Championships

With the recent announcement of the introduction of the new AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship, there could be more new titles coming soon.

From weight informed titles to an event that fans have been asking about for quite some time – there could be even more intriguing new championships coming to AEW.

Here are five more new AEW Championships that could be introduced in the future.

5. AEW Cruiserweight Championship

While AEW has stayed away from championships based on weight classes, there would be an exciting opportunity to showcase some of AEW’s smaller stature stars in their own division.

Able to introduce the Cruiserweight Championship – even if named something entirely different – could help create a new path to glory for the men’s division.

Opening up potentially intriguing matches for the likes of Ricochet, Nick Wayne, Speedball Mike Bayley and Bandido – there could be a very fun separate sets of battles for the men coming in at under 200lbs.

While there are a lot of heavy hitters on the opposite end of the weigh classes, the AEW cruiserweights could carve out a unique place within professional wrestling.

4. AEW Heavyweight Championship

Another potential championship that could be delineated via a weight class would be an option for the biggest men on the AEW roster.

While is should definitely be informally named the AEW Meat Championship, perhaps the term ‘heavyweight’ would be more appropriate – but the theme is the same.

Giving a specific title to the biggest men on the roster could host some incredible match-ups between not only AEW stars but also heavy hitters from NJPW or CMLL.

Also if just used as a vanity title after being given to one big man as a part of a storyline, the AEW Meat Championship could end up being a one-and-done.

3. Women’s Continental Championship

The introduction of the Continental Classic tournament in AEW also brought forth the introduction of the AEW Continental Championship.

While that title would go on to be unified with the AEW International Championship to create the new AEW Unified Championship.

Never the less – the AEW women’s roster is certainly stacked with enough talent to host a very compelling Continental Classic tournament to determine a new Women’s Continental Champion.

Able to be won and then continue to be defended as has been done in the men’s division, the title would offer an important additional mid-card goal beyond the TBS Championship which has historically remained in limited hands.

2. Women’s Trios Championship

Since AEW has finally announced that there will be a Women’s Tag Team Championship coming soon – perhaps it will pave the way for even bigger titles.

With several trios of females already in AEW at the minute, perhaps there could end up being an Women’s Trios Championship in the future as well.

While there is some overlap on the roster between which women might be vying for the tag or trios titles, bringing together unique groups could lead to some interesting storylines.

Potentially allowing for partnerships across brands to incorporate women from ROH as well as STARDOM or CMLL, the AEW Women’s Trios Championship could be unique in blending the rosters together for new and exciting teams.

1. Hardcore Championship

While AEW uses the tag line “where the best wrestle”, the promotion is often host to some of the most brutal and bloody battles in professional wrestling.

In the vein of the original WWF Hardcore Championship, an AEW Hardcore Championship could celebrate the most deranged amongst the roster.

Demonstrating a willingness to do whatever it takes to win, the Hardcore Championship could serve as the backdrop for the most heated rivalries in AEW.

Able to be anchored by the likes of Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Darby Allin and more – such a daring title could be a lot of fun.
