On Monday, January 5, it was revealed that Mercedes Martinez, Matt Taven and Alex Abrahantes had departed AEW after the expiration of their contracts.
With many contracts coming up around this time of the year, there should be more AEW names that are set to leave in the weeks and months to come.
Whether it be a top star or former champion, these talents will be looking to find a new home sooner rather than later upon their exit from All Elite Wrestling.
Here are eight more AEW stars to potentially leave the company.
8. Chris Jericho

Following AEW Worlds End 2025, it was revealed that Chris Jericho’s contract with the company was expected to expire on December 31.
However, Jericho’s name has not yet been removed from the AEW roster page with the rest of the recent departures.
With every indication pointing to his likely exit, it seems like only a matter of time before Jericho officially leaves All Elite Wrestling.
After six years with the company and helping establish them as a competitor brand, it seems like Jericho will be leaving and on his way back to WWE before long.

7. Mike Bennett

One of the most notable names included in the recently departed stars from AEW had to be Matt Taven.
Once a member of the Undisputed Kingdom, Taven was alongside his tag team partner Mike Bennett when the two men aligned with Adam Cole, Roderick Strong and Wardlow to form this faction.
However, this group was short-lived and never reached their true potential due to major injuries to Cole.
Now that Taven is gone from the company, it would not be surprising to see Bennett join his partner as a free agent.

6. Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver & Alex Reynolds)

The Dark Order have been part of the AEW roster since their initial debut at AEW All Out 2019.
The group has undergone many changes over the course of the past seven years from their time with Brodie Lee as the leader to their role in the rise of Hangman Adam Page to becoming AEW World Champion for the first time.
2026 will be an interesting year for the trio of Evil Uno, John Silver and Alex Reynolds, whose contracts will expire sometime over the next 12 months.
With their roles on AEW TV mostly diminished, it might be the right time for Dark Order to explore their options outside of Tony Khan’s promotion.

5. Billy Gunn

Another day one AEW signee was Billy Gunn. Initially brought on as a producer and coach, Gunn has played a more crucial role over the past few years.
Working alongside her sons Colten and Austin Gunn first, Billy Gunn then transitioned to a role as a manager and partner for Anthony Bowens and Max Caster, known as The Acclaimed.
Guiding Bowens and Caster to the AEW World Tag Team Championships and winning the AEW World Trios Championships with the pair, Gunn has been in a regularly featured position on the company’s television.
With that role seemingly done despite The Acclaimed having a slow burn reconciliation, fans could see Billy Gunn finally leave AEW to have his own reunion with his D-Generation X stablemates Triple H and Road Dogg working backstage in WWE.

4. Jeff Jarrett

At the start of 2025, Jeff Jarrett announced that he had signed a one-year deal with All Elite Wrestling.
Looking to finally win the AEW World Title, Jarrett set his sights on this lofty goal, but he unfortunately came up short in that bid.
Now one year later, it feels like fans could see the end of Double J’s time in AEW for the foreseeable future.
Jarrett leaving AEW could see him finally decide to hang up his boots or even potentially make yet another return to WWE in some shape or form.

3. Kamille

In 2024, Kamille was viewed as one of AEW’s key free agent signings of the year.
After her successful run as NWA Women’s World Champion, many fans thought that Kamille was set for some big things in All Elite Wrestling.
However, her initial time in the company was cut short when Kamille was written off television following her failed alliance with Mercedes Mone in that same year.
With her absence going well over a year, it might be time for AEW and Kamille to go their separate ways and give the former NWA Women’s World Champion a new lease on life in the world of pro wrestling.

2. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has found herself in the headlines as someone whose future in AEW seems to be up in the air.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion has been absent from the promotion for over one year now.
With reports indicating that her contract will expire in 2026, it seems almost inevitable at this point that Baker will and should leave the promotion.
Baker leaving AEW will truly be the end of an era with her role as the first female signing for the company back in 2019 and should give her a new path to follow in pro wrestling moving forward.

1. Keith Lee

Another AEW star who has been in the midst of a lengthy absence from the company’s programming is Keith Lee.
“The Limitless One” came into All Elite Wrestling as a high profile free agent and someone who could become a top star for the company for years to come.
After being pulled from AEW Worlds End in December 2023, fans have not seen Lee in a ring in over two years.
With his future in the company uncertain, it feels like Lee should head elsewhere to regain the momentum he once had and potentially make a return to WWE in the near future.
