More AEW Name Changes Coming Soon

All Elite Wrestling has a surplus of talent on its current roster, but there are certain stars who could be in need of a presentation adjustment.

While there are some who could have a complete character change, there are others who might be on their way to a name change of some kind.

These AEW stars could range from established main eventers to rising stars on the roster and would see them rise to more prominent spots in the company moving forward.

Here are seven more AEW name changes potentially coming soon.

7. Lio Rush

At AEW Revolution 2026, Lio Rush made his return under a new persona that has never been used in All Elite Wrestling.

With weird eye contacts and moving differently, Rush introduced his “Blackheart” alter ego to the AEW audience.

Seen previously on the independent scene, Lio embraced his darker impulses and has since gotten a complete character overhaul with a new entrance.

After trademarking his nickname, AEW fans could start to be formally introduced to “Blackheart” Lio Rush and bring this new presentation to the next level.

6. Action Andretti

While Lio Rush has shown a different side of his personality, his CRU tag team partner Action Andretti has been somewhat silent about this change for his friend.

Andretti is someone who has been on the AEW roster for over three years now and feels somewhat stagnant from how he started.

With Rush embracing his “Blackheart” personality, it should leave the door open for Action to try something new as well.

Whether it be coming up with a new persona that matches his CRU teammate or going by his real name Tyler Reber, Andretti might be the next AEW star to undergo a name change like Lio.

5. Isiah Kassidy

On the March 28 edition of AEW Collision, Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia of The Death Riders defeated Private Party in tag team action.

Coming off the heels of this loss, it was revealed that Private Party’s Marq Quen had suffered a reported injury.

Following this news, Quen’s tag team partner Isiah Kassidy cut a promo about getting revenge for his tag team partner.

Wanting to show a new side of himself, Kassidy could go by his shortened name of Zay as a singles star moving forward.

4. The Beast Mortos

The Beast Mortos currently reigns as a ROH Tag Team Champion alongside Sammy Guevara

The Beast Mortos has been one of the most underrated names on the AEW roster for the past two years.

Showing off his agility and power, Mortos has proven to be one of the most versatile and diverse luchadors in wrestling today.

Prior to his AEW run, Mortos was known as Black Taurus, so All Elite Wrestling might change his name once again when they decide to push him in a larger role on the company’s television.

Mortos going by one of his previous names like Black Beast, Taurus or even Machine Rocker might be the way to go for the luchador in AEW for his future.

3. Mark Davis

As of late, Mark Davis has become one of the most consistent in-ring competitors in All Elite Wrestling.

As a member of the Don Callis Family, Davis has become a reliable big man who has shown a great deal of versatility against a wide variety of opponents.

From his matches with Jon Moxley and “Speedball” Mike Bailey to winning the AEW World Trios Championship, Davis has opened the eyes of many fans and peers, becoming one of the more prominent stars of 2026 so far.

Davis undergoing a name change or adopting a new nickname would further enhance his presentation on AEW television and lead to him becoming a top star in the promotion.

2. Ricochet

In 2025, Ricochet turned heel in his rivalry with Swerve Strickland and showcased a much more sadistic side of his persona.

The inaugural AEW National Champion has gone from strength to strength since signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2024.

From his entertaining heel character to his Demand faction with the Gates of Agony, Ricochet has positioned himself as one of the stalwarts of the AEW roster over the past two years.

While he is in a solid position in the company, Ricochet undergoing a name change or even going by his real name of Trevor Mann might further allow him to elevate up the card in a more significant way.

1. Chris Jericho

On the April 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho made his return to All Elite Wrestling for the first time in a year.

Now looking to redeem himself and help to continue building AEW, “Le Champion” has started to be simply referred to as Jericho instead of his full name.

With his career winding down at the age of 55, Jericho has become a living legend to the point he only needs one name.

Jericho redeeming his past transgressions under his new alias would be quite fitting for where he is at this final stage of his iconic career.
