WWE has now officially confirmed that the 2027 Royal Rumble premium live event will be taking place on February 6, 2027 at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, AZ.
With the date now set in stone for just over three months time, it’s time to look ahead to who may potentially earn the biggest win of their career at the event – specifically the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Oba Femi is reportedly planned to main event WrestleMania 43 Night Two against Roman Reigns, but “The Ruler” doesn’t necessarily have to win the Royal Rumble in order to get that spot as an Elimination Chamber win also does the same job.
Here are three alternative picks to win the men’s Royal Rumble match other than Oba Femi:
LA Knight
After his crushing loss to Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank 2026, LA Knight is well and truly back to the drawing board in WWE.
Most fans have now given up on “The Megastar” ever climbing to the top of the mountain and it’s easy to see why, as he’s come close on so many occasions in the past, and with the rise of Oba Femi on the horizon, there doesn’t appear to be many opportunities for a sustained LA Knight world title run.
That obviously is the case on Raw, but who’s to say Knight couldn’t move to SmackDown and finally get the job done? Knight winning the Rumble would make for one of the most cathartic moments in WWE history, and allow the veteran to achieve his dream at “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
Kevin Owens
While LA Knight is still waiting for his first world title win in WWE, Kevin Owens is seeking to win his second after a long 10-year drought. When it comes to major world title matches, Owens has had close call after close call over the past decade, but he, like Knight hasn’t been able to get the job done.
Having recently returned from career-threatening neck surgery, Owens appears to be in a great position to finally win the big one yet again, especially whilst his former best friend Sami Zayn is holding the Undisputed WWE Championship.
If Zayn is still holding that title by WrestleMania 43, a showdown with Owens would be a fitting way to cap off their story, and “The Prizefighter” could earn that opportunity by winning the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Bron Breakker
According to reports, Bron Breakker was at one point considered to win the 2026 men’s Royal Rumble, however, the company ultimately went with Roman Reigns.
In retrospect, that may have been the right decision, however, it also feels as if WWE missed a window to push Breakker as a true main event star. Oba Femi has now leapfrogged Breakker as WWE’s “Next Big Thing” and as a result, it’s harder to see where Breakker’s next main event push is coming.
Again, that is certainly true on Monday Night Raw, but WWE don’t have to keep Breakker on the red brand; they could always have him win the Rumble and choose to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Title instead.
Both Breakker and Femi being crowned as WWE world champions at WrestleMania 43 would be a true landscape shifting moment for WWE; one reminiscent of when Batista and John Cena did the same at WrestleMania 21 in 2005.
