With less than two weeks to go, currently the card for AEW Double or Nothing 2025 remains at only two announced matches.
While the Owen Hart Cup finals are big ones – pitting Will Ospreay against Hangman Adam Page and Mercedes Mone against Jamie Hayter – there are still a lot more matches that seem likely to be announced.
Here are eight matches that could be added to AEW Double or Nothing 2025.
8. MJF vs. Bobby Lashley

While Bobby Lashley is poised to respond to MJF regarding his persistence in attempting to join the Hurt Syndicate, it would make sense to see this fall apart before Max’s eyes.
Perhaps Lashley will let him into the group on a conditional basis, but it seems far more likely that sometime within the next couple weeks, conflict finally boils over between MJF and Lashley in the ring.
With MJF having previously discussed his rejection sensitivity as a defining characteristic of his drive, it would seem odd that he would be handling Lashley’s repeated rebuffs so well.
It could be that MJF is on the verge of a complete ego collapse in the face of final rejection from Lashley which could lead to him forming his own faction to rival the Hurt Syndicate. There are some details left to be revealed, but it certainly seems if not at Double or Nothing, sometime in the future, MJF and Bobby Lashley will go head-to-head.

7. Adam Cole vs. Max Caster

While Adam Cole has put his TNT Championship on the line once in his reign – successfully defending against Claudio Castagnoli – it would be good to still see him tangle in the ring.
Perhaps Max Caster could host his very own special open challenge for Double or Nothing where he vows to take on any AEW or ROH champion for a title shot – with Caster confident he could take on any respondent.
This would just give Adam Cole a fun and fairly easy win while continuing to keep him engaged.
An alternative could be a more serious and competitive match against the likes of a newcomer in AEW such as Speedball Mike Bailey or Josh Alexander, but with some sort of shenanigans in the finish as to prevent any title change.

6. Timeless Toni Storm vs. Mina Shirakawa

One of the only two matches that have been confirmed for AEW Double or Nothing is already the women’s Owen Hart Cup final between Mercedes Mone and Jamie Hayter.
The result of that match will determine who will get an AEW Women’s World Championship shot at AEW All In Texas. However, there still isn’t anyone scheduled to face off for the title at Double or Nothing.
It seems as though Mina Shirakawa is in position to take over the space previously occupied at the top of women’s AEW roster by her STARDOM tag team partner Mariah May, and is poised for a title shot now.
With a four-way title eliminator set for Dynamite between Timeless Toni Storm, the returning Skye Blue, Mina Shirakawa and the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion AZM on AEW Dynamite May 14, we may find out our answer tonight.

5. The Outrunners, Private Party, Grizzled Young Veterans, Paragon, RPG Vice, Top Flight, CRU, Big Bill & Bryan Keith, Gates of Agony, Orange Cassidy & Mark Briscoe, Konosuke Takeshita & Josh Alexander – ‘Phoenix Rising’ #1 Contender Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Since Double or Nothing 2025 isn’t in Las Vegas, it seems that the “Casino Gauntlet” concept could be replaced by something Phoenix, Arizona related.
With many tag teams in AEW all in search of a tag team title shot, the company may well put them all into a match together.
A surprise team could be Orange Cassidy and Mark Briscoe, while other side storylines such as Bryan Keith and Big Bill winning bringing about the return of Chris Jericho could all be rolled into one match.
With a chance to take on the Hurt Syndicate on the line, it could be any number of teams that end up on top.

4. Ricochet vs. Kevin Knight vs. Kazuchika Okada

Although Kevin Knight has recently lost a title eliminator to Kazuchika Okada, that doesn’t mean that a three-way face-off couldn’t be in the near future.
If the Continental Championship were to be on the line in a three-way match, there could be a way for Okada to lose his long held title without being pinned.
Okada has held the Continental Championship for the last 420 days with no signs of particularly slowing down, but perhaps shaking up the title could reinvigorate his sense of purpose.
It would be good to see a little bit of a shake-up at Double or Nothing and having a title change – either Ricochet or Knight really – would be one way to do it.

3. Jon Moxley vs. Eddie Kingston

While AEW Dynamite Beach Break on May 14 is set to host a steel cage match between Jon Moxley and Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship, it seems like there wouldn’t be a repeat in only a few weeks at Double or Nothing.
However, there has to be someone who can step up to Moxley in Phoenix, Arizona for the event. Eddie Kingston has been out of action since May 2024, having missed the entire Death Riders storyline – which could make him the perfect person to face Mox.
Reports have noted that Kingston could be back in action as early as June 2025, but we’ll have to wait and see if he ends up getting caught up with the Death Riders upon his return to action.
On the other hand, the lack of AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing would make complete sense if Moxley was set to participate in a Double or Nothing fan favorite match…

2. Anarchy in the Arena – The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) & The Elite (Young Bucks & Jack Perry) vs. Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, The Opps (Katsuyori Shibata, Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe) & Eddie Kingston

With AEW Double or Nothing often being host to the wild and raucous Anarchy in the Arena match, the same could happen at this year’s event.
With plenty of scores to settle, this could be the best forum to host numerous big moments within these feuds, but without impacting any championship plans.
It would be just as satisfying to see the Young Bucks get comeuppance from Kenny Omega and see some of AEW’s biggest stars all tangling at once.
Jack Perry could make a surprise return to re-join The Elite and a surprise return from Eddie Kingston for ‘Team AEW’ is just one route – Tony Khan has plenty of options for this one.

1. FTR vs. Daniel Garcia & Nigel McGuinness

After his Collision showdown on last week’s edition of the show, it seems as though we may be poised to see the in-ring return of Nigel McGuinness.
When Daniel Garcia was being attacked by FTR, Daddy Magic ran out in an attempt to make the save, but in the melee, it would be Nigel McGuinness who would join the pair to fend off FTR.
After making his return to in-ring competition at AEW All In London, McGuinness went on to have a highly rated match against Bryan Danielson, and later, one in ROH against Lee Moriarty.
There could be some storyline way that rules out Daddy Magic from being able to compete as to tie this together nicely, but either way, it would be a fun feud on the way to FTR chasing tag team gold.
