With the 2025 WWE Draft potentially still to come on ESPN, there are main roster stars that could benefit from being drafted to NXT.
While the move isn’t always seen as lateral, it does provide the opportunity to revamp characters and gain a boost in fan support before returning to one of the main roster brands.
Here are five main roster stars that could join NXT for a spell.
5. Aleister Black

Since returning to WWE after several years in AEW, Aleister Black has been appearing on SmackDown.
While his return to the main roster has yet to take flight, there could be a case to be made that Black could make a larger impact in NXT.
With the potential that several NXT stars could be called up to the main roster, Black could serve as the temporary foil to the affable babyfaces still behind in NXT.
The likes of Je’Von Evans, Joe Hendry and Myles Borne could all face the crucible of Aleister Black while also building up the mystique of the veteran former NXT Champion.

4. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss

What started as a pair that was seemingly doomed to break-up, the pairing of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss has ended up becoming quite popular with fans.
Since the duo continue to hold the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, it could be fun to see them roaming the halls of the Performance Center.
Giving backstage camera time to a variety of interesting characters, Flair and Bliss could have an endless supply of comedic segments while eventually picking up a match or two as well.
With the likes of Sol Ruca and Zaria as well as Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame potentially in the hunt, it could be fun to see NXT teams get a shot at the title.

3. Rusev

With seemingly no one able to get the best of Oba Femi for the NXT Championship, perhaps it requires a main roster star to do the heavy lifting.
Enter Rusev, who could conceivably be the one to dethrone Femi – or another dominant champion – in order to write them off NXT and to the main roster.
Spending some time building his character in NXT, Rusev could end up quickly re-establishing himself as a frightening force before returning to the main roster.
Seemingly lost in a long feud with Sheamus at the minute, Rusev could use a refresh after having just returned to WWE in April.

2. Dragon Lee

Although Dragon Lee captured the NXT North American Championship in fairly short order, the former AAA, CMLL and ROH champion has yet to have a run at a main roster title.
Although his affiliation with the LWO has been helpful, his singles work in NXT stood out in a different way that could likely be recaptured with a return to the PC.
While the potential that Lee could continue to be showcased on the WWE main roster in the future, a return to NXT wouldn’t need to be permanent.
However, to continue to keep up his momentum, it would be good to see Dragon Lee back in the mix in regular competition.

1. Candice LeRae

After impressing fans with her performance in the Tables, Ladders and Chairs men’s tag team match at SummerSlam and her wild bumps, perhaps it is time for Candice LeRae to have some respect put on her name.
Able to channel her more tenacious persona of the past, the Poison Pixie wouldn’t need to be an over the top heel to be a menacing force to the NXT women’s locker room.
Playing the role of the grizzled veteran, LeRae could be the resident bully that is constantly throwing jabs at her fellow talent, which in turn helps provide moments of triumph for her targets.
With Nia Jax having recently returned to WWE NXT to share her on-screen bullying skills, perhaps LeRae could be next.
