AEW’s Jon Moxley has undergone a character change over the past few months, which has caused a different dynamic in his group, the Death Riders.
Once AEW’s top heel, Moxley went through a long losing streak that led to him refinding his mojo in the Continental Classic and winning the tournament to become the AEW Continental Championship.
Turning babyface after overcoming Kazuchika Okada in the finals, Moxley has been a valiant hero to the fans, while the Death Riders have remained heels for the most part, which has led many fans to believe he will eventually be replaced at some point.
Here are seven potential Jon Moxley AEW Death Riders replacements.
7. Claudio Castagnoli

Since signing with AEW in 2022, Claudio Castagnoli has been aligned with Jon Moxley first in the Blackpool Combat Club and now with The Death Riders.
Castagnoli and Moxley are longtime friends with one another and have been stablemates for the past four years.
“The Swiss Superman” has played the enforcer role for the different factions he has been part of, but he is a former ROH World Champion and one of the best wrestlers of his generation that could easily be the leader of a stable.
Claudio replacing Moxley as the Death Riders leader would be an interesting development that could cause a ripple effect through the group moving forward.
6. PAC

PAC has been one of the most prominent stars in AEW since making his debut in the company in 2019.
“The Bastard” is one of the most accomplished in-ring competitors and high flyers in wrestling today.
When he joined The Death Riders, it always felt like PAC could easily be positioned as the leader of the faction.
PAC usurping Jon Moxley as the leader feels like something that would fit his character very well and bring even more aggression to The Death Riders.
5. Marina Shafir

The Death Riders started in 2024 with Jon Moxley making his return to All Elite Wrestling and having Marina Shafir in his corner.
Since the group’s formation, Shafir has been a force to be reckoned with and been right by Moxley’s side every step of the way.
Becoming one of the breakout stars of the stable, Shafir has been elevated to one of the most feared female stars on the AEW roster today.
Shafir betraying Moxley and replacing him as the Death Riders leader would be a massive change that would put her front and center instead of standing by the side of the frontman of the faction.

4. Darby Allin

There has been no one who has been more in opposition to the Death Riders than Darby Allin.
When the Death Riders formed, it was Allin who was their first rival and fell victim to Jon Moxley by taking his guaranteed shot at the AEW World Title.
For the next year, Darby fought tooth and nail to take down the group, which led to his wins in the I Quit Match over Moxley at AEW WrestleDream and in the Blood & Guts Match against the Death Riders.
Considering he once stated that if it wasn’t for Moxley and what he did to Bryan Danielson he would be a member, Darby feels like someone who could replace the four-time AEW World Champion as the Death Riders leader in a significant way.
3. Bryan Danielson

The Blackpool Combat Club turned on Bryan Danielson in a brutal and vicious attack at AEW All Out 2024.
This led to Jon Moxley defeating Bryan Danielson to win the AEW World Title and ending his full-time in-ring career at AEW WrestleDream 2024.
Ever since then, “The American Dragon” has stepped away from the squared circle and became a color commentator for AEW programming.
Danielson making his return could lead to him replacing Moxley as the Death Riders leader and reshaping the group in his own image.

2. Gabe Kidd

Over the past year, Gabe Kidd has been regularly appearing on AEW television and became the mercenary for the Death Riders.
Working alongside Jon Moxley, Kidd has caused mayhem for the other stars on the AEW roster.
“The Mad Man” recently reunited with his former Bullet Club War Dogs members David Finlay and Clark Connors to form The Dogs in All Elite Wrestling.
Wanting to merge the two factions and take over The Death Riders, Kidd could usurp his mentor Jon Moxley and take him out to be the new replacement for the current AEW Continental Champion.
1. David Finlay

Back in 2023, David Finlay turned heel and took out Jay White before becoming the new leader of the Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Reshaping the group with The War Dogs, Finlay showcased how much he can impact an existing stable that has their own identity and bring his own flare to how the fans view the faction moving forward.
Now that Finlay recently signed with All Elite Wrestling, it feels like the fourth-generation star could become a top star in the company and could do so by taking the Death Riders away from Jon Moxley.
Replacing Moxley, Finlay could take over the leadership of the Death Riders and merge them with The Dogs to become the most dominant faction in AEW moving forward.
