There are several top WWE stars who are currently out of action due to injury but their returns could be coming sooner rather than later.

With multiple storylines impacted by injuries on WWE Raw, it seems there are some returns to action sooner rather than later.

Here are six injured stars that could potentially return on WWE Raw.

6. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is out of action due to an apparent legitimate injury that has since impacted a few anticipated storylines ahead of SummerSlam.

While Seth Rollins’ potential return to action timeline has not been revealed, the star himself commented that he expected it to be a long absence.

Although Rollins may not be planning on resuming in-ring competition for some time, that doesn’t mean that he still wouldn’t pop up on WWE TV.

With his faction members Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed able to do the heavy physical lifting, Rollins could be featured seated in backstage segments (mirroring the previous imagery of Roman Reigns’ run with Paul Heyman) rather than in the ring.

5. Ilja Dragunov

Out of action since September 2024 after suffering a torn ACL during a house show match against GUNTHER, Ilja Dragunov may be nearing a return.

With reports varying regarding when to expect the star to return to in-ring action – it sounds as though his return could be anytime now.

Potentially returning as a foe to GUNTHER for the future – he may also return to an alliance with the Ring General which could be very intriguing.

With multiple dominant groups forming on WWE Raw – maybe Dragunov would be the ideal backup for GUNTHER as he feuds with CM Punk ahead of SummerSlam.

4. Liv Morgan

Seemingly originally set for a program with Nikki Bella ahead of Evolution 2025, instead Liv Morgan picked up a shoulder injury and has been out of action since

While Morgan has undergone surgery and is not expected back into in-ring action in the immediate future – that doesn’t mean that she couldn’t return to TV.

With the Judgment Day continuing to all hold titles, it would be very interesting to see Liv Morgan react to having been effectively replaced in the group by Roxanne Perez.

Although she has only been out of action for a month, Morgan remains a central character in the Judgment Day storyline – so hopefully could be included if there were big upcoming developments at SummerSlam.

3. Kiana James

Already having featured in a dark match at the July 18th SmackDown that saw her in a losing effort to Michin on Main Event – James seems likely to be back in action on TV soon.

While she was spotted in the background of a scene featuring Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss – walking and talking with Giulia – it was never confirmed that she wouldn’t return to WWE Raw.

Possibly seeing James doing spy work on SmackDown for the upcoming WWE Draft – there could be a return soon for the star who was originally drafted to WWE Raw in the 2024 draft.

While she picked up an injury before she was able to make a big impact on the main roster, Kiana James will prove to be a force wherever she returns.

2. Tama Tonga

Tama Tonga was written off WWE TV ahead of WrestleMania 41 as to take time off to recover from a legitimate injury.

However in his time off of SmackDown – a lot has changed between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.

So while he may return to align with one side or the other of his former faction – he could also pop back up on WWE Raw.

With the return of Roman Reigns bringing brand new possibilities for Bloodline partnerships on WWE Raw – perhaps Tama Tonga could become Reigns’ new right hand man.

1. Rey Mysterio

WWE star Rey Mysterio

While Rey Mysterio was with the LWO faction before taking time off due to injury – there is a compelling reason for him to potentially return to WWE Raw.

Potentially looking for revenge for a match that was cancelled ahead of WrestleMania 41 due to Mysterio’s injury against El Grande Americano – there is a brand new man under the mask in Chad Gable’s absence – marking a new challenge for Mysterio in Ludwig Kaiser.

Of course there’s always a score to settle with his son Dirty Dom. With Dominik continuing to hold onto the Intercontinental Championship through shady means like interferences and delaying his match against AJ Styles due to a doctor’s note – maybe Rey will make a surprise return in support of Styles.

Mysterio has reportedly been speculated to be returning as soon as next month – possibly making him SummerSlam ready.
