With AEW All Out 2025 fast approaching, it could be that the ultimate way for AEW to counter WWE’s counterprogramming could be revealed.
Since there are a host of exciting free agents with a past in WWE that AEW could bring in and grab headlines – there could be some exciting surprises in store in Toronto.
Here are seven former WWE stars that could make a debut at AEW All Out 2025.
7. Shayna Baszler with Ronda Rousey
A pair of departed WWE stars that could make immediate waves in AEW could be that of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.
With Baszler able to showcase her own unique style in AEW’s more gritty women’s division, perhaps the Queen of Spades could be back in action soon – and bring Rousey along with her.
Perhaps more likely to be accompanying Baszler in the latter’s AEW All Out 2025 debut, the notable mainstream name making a surprise appearance could grab headlines.
Possibly introducing a new challenger for the long reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Athena or AEW Women’s Champion Timeless Toni Storm, Baszler could find targets on more than one roster.

6. Brie Bella
While Nikki Bella made a big return to WWE at the Royal Rumble 2025 – Brie has yet to make an appearance on WWE TV.
Not even being shown during an entrance or in the crowd – Brie has shared her own theory about why WWE is perhaps leaving her out of Nikki’s return storyline.
Noting that she suspects it has something to do with Bryan Danielson’s close ties to AEW – perhaps Brie Bella should just jump ship to AEW.
Making a splash at AEW All Out 2025 – Brie could end up being an ally for any number of AEW’s top names of the women’s division.

While she was known as Gigi Dolin in WWE, departing from her role in NXT hasn’t slowed down the ambitious veteran.
Continuing to compete in some of the most interesting matches on the indies after returning to her former moniker Priscilla Kelly – the former 2x NXT Tag Team Champion could be an iconic addition to AEW.
Fitting in far better with AEW’s grittier and more edgy style, Kelly could bring a whole new violent streak to the already powerful women’s division.
Able to bring expertise in mixed tag matches – there are a lot of violent acts for Prscilla Kelly to get up to in AEW!

With AEW All Out 2025 facing stiff competition from WWE Wrestlepalooza – even more so before the former switched to an earlier time – it could be time to call in some reinforcements from partnering promotions.
Having just hosted the annual AEW Forbidden Door crossover show with promotions NJPW, CMLL and STARDOM – AEW could possibly leverage another relationship for an All Out surprise.
Current MLW Tag Team Champions The Skyscrapers – Bishop Dyer (fka Baron Corbin) and Donovan Dijak are a pair of stars that could be tapped to make a surprise appearance at AEW All Out 2025.
With MJF having recently popped up in MLW, perhaps it will be the former WWE stars who return the favor.

2. Dakota Kai
WWE fans were surprised when Dakota Kai was released in May 2025 after seemingly being on the verge of a renewed push.
Involved in the chase for the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Championship ahead of her departure – Kai ended up never holding singles gold in WWE.
She did however hold the NXT Tag Team Championship 2x as well as the main roster tag titles 2x – making her an ideal person to bring in to launch the AEW women’s tag division.
Potentially marking a major moment in the AEW history, the addition of Dakota Kai could be a game changer if it also ushered in the introduction of the AEW Women’s Tag Team titles.
