Former WWE Stars To Appear At AEW All Out 2025

With AEW All Out 2025 coming up on September 20, there could very well be some surprise appearances from former WWE stars at the event.

From recently departed names that could be looking for a fresh start in their career to fun nostalgia appearances to delight fans – there are some intriguing options!

Here are seven former WWE stars that could appear at AEW All Out 2025.

7. Shayna Baszler

A former WWE star that could find new life in AEW would be Shayna Baszler.

While she was a dominant champion in NXT with her ‘Queen of Spades’ character, Baszler ended up finding more acclaim on the main roster in tag team efforts than singles action.

Still poised to be able to have competitive and compelling singles bouts, Baszler could be a new addition to the Death Riders recruited by Marina Shafir – becoming the immediate crucible for Kris Statlander.

Able to be a threatening singles force or a frightening addition to any group, Shayna Baszler could be a scary surprise at AEW All Out 2025.

6. Ronda Rousey

Another real life friend of Marina Shafir who could make a surprise appearance at AEW All Out 2025 is former UFC and WWE star, Ronda Rousey.

With Rousey already making an appearance in ROH in the past, teaming with Shafir against Athena and Billie Starkz – perhaps there could be an AEW appearance in her future.

Making several recent comments about aspects of her time in WWE that have drawn a reaction from pro wrestling pundits, Rousey could make an appearance just for fun.

While Ronda Rousey has been clear that she is unlikely to pick up professional wrestling again full time – she could definitely still pop-up every now and again!

5. Gangrel

Making a previous appearance alongside Adam Copeland in AEW during the latter’s TNT Championship bout at Double or Nothing 2024 – Gangrel has popped up in AEW even before that.

Appearing during the 2020 Elite Deletion match, he would later be subject to an attack by the Young Bucks on a 2022 episode of Rampage.

While Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are set to take on FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) at AEW All Out 2025, they would be wise to tap Gangrel as a surprise equalizer.

With FTR’s dastardly heel manager Stokely fledgling in his attempts to demonstrate his worth, he could definitely be an interfering factor – unless Gangrel stops him!

4. Mick Foley

After ruling out an in-ring return, WWE legend Mick Foley has been complimentary of his interactions with MJF who had pitched a program with the icon. While the duo won’t ultimately square off in the ring, an intriguing development ahead of AEW All Out 2025 could tease an appearance by the WWE Hall of Famer.

While Mark Briscoe would go on to choose the stipulation for the bout, it was revealed to be an interesting one – Tables & Thumbtacks.

Promising “hundreds of thousands of thumbtacks” for MJF as his wedding present, Mark Briscoe doesn’t seem to be joking about his intention to take out MJF.

Potentially writing MJF off TV so that he can go on an actual honeymoon – there could be no better special guest weapons keeper for a bout with this wild stipulation than Mick Foley.

3. Karrion Kross

Fans may remember that Karrion Kross had previously been in some talks with AEW to make an appearance during MJF’s storyline with Wardlow.

While Tony Khan and Kross reportedly didn’t come to terms on an appearance then, it was noted that Khan was open to working with Kross in the future.

Instead, Big Bill would make his AEW debut (at the time as W.Morissey) as MJF’s hand selected opponent for Wardlow.

With Big Bill challenging Eddie Kingston to a match at AEW All Out 2025 and the latter seemingly accepting – perhaps Bill’s next challenger could be the familiar face of the conniving Killer Kross.

2. Dakota Kai

When WWE released Dakota Kai in May 2025, she seemed to be one of the departed stars that fans were most gutted to see leave.

With fans rushing to social media to pitch ideas about potential dream matches in AEW, Kai instead took a break from professional wrestling. However, recently resuming live streaming on Twitch she has revealed that she misses wrestling.

Heralded as one of the best active women’s wrestlers by her peers and pundits alike, Dakota Kai seems like an obvious choice to get picked up by AEW.

With AEW notably shying away from signing former WWE stars thus far in 2025, perhaps Kai could be the exception due to her excellence.

1. Karl Fredericks

While he was a highly touted prospect from NJPW, Karl Fredericks ended up signing with WWE after his LA Dojo departure in 2022.

However with his character in NXT failing to catch on, he would end up being released after several attempts to reimagine his persona.

After taking a brief break from professional wrestling, Fredericks is back in action having returned to the ring on September 5 when he took on Kevin Blackwood in West Coast Pro.

While there isn’t a clear place for Fredericks to slide into a storyline at AEW All Out 2025, there is a Zero Hour Tailgate Brawl that could feature some surprising names
