With their now being several success stories of stars switching from All Elite Wrestling to WWE, more former AEW champions seem potentially poised to follow suit.
From stars that seem set to remain on the sidelines until their AEW contracts expire, to others that may be looking for their next big picture career move – there are some intriguing candidates for who could make the leap next.
Here are seven former AEW champions that could sign with WWE.
7. Keith Lee

Former AEW Tag Team Champion Keith Lee hasn’t been seen in AEW action since December 23, 2023.
While part of his time away from AEW was reportedly due to medical reasons, Lee would recently reveal that he was indeed “fine”.
Responding to a fan on social media, Lee reassured that it wasn’t up to him when he might return.
Perhaps the next time Keith Lee pops up will actually be back in WWE, with many fans curious to see how he would fare in a Triple H-led main roster.

6. Britt Baker

Britt Baker’s absence from AEW has led to a recent swirl of speculation that ended up being addressed by Tony Khan directly.
Noting in the pre-All In media call that Britt Baker was still currently contracted with AEW, Khan went on to say he would be happy to bring her back in the right spot.
For her part – Baker has been largely quiet about her absence, contract status or plans for the future, but the longer she’s gone, the more it seems like she could make a future jump to WWE.
Just because Baker currently remains under AEW contract doesn’t mean WWE won’t someday see the debut of another former AEW Women’s World Champion after recently signing Blake Monroe (Mariah May).

5. Private Party

After dropping the AEW World Tag Team Championship to The Hurt Syndicate in January 2025 – Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen have yet to be seen since.
However, it has recently been reported that their contracts with AEW could be set to expire as soon as July 2025.
With reported interest from WWE in Private Party given their strong characters and experience on TV – it could be that we see the pair in NXT soon.
As NXT is in the process of rebuilding its tag team division, adding the charismatic pair of Zay & Quen may come at the perfect time.

4. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is reportedly set to see his current AEW contract expire in late 2025 – making him a potential free agent in 2026.
While Jericho could certainly end up re-signing with AEW, his continued absence is intriguing – as he is poised to miss both AEW All In and Forbidden Door.
In recent interviews, Jericho has softened his stance on a potential return to WWE by acknowledging he’s at least open to the idea.
Definitely a shoo-in for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame at some point in the future – perhaps his next, and potentially, last big contract will be back with WWE.

3. Saraya (Paige)

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya could potentially return to her former WWE character in the future.
Never ruling out a return to her Paige character, fans were hopeful she could make an appearance at the all-female WWE Evolution PLE.
No such luck however, as there were no surprise returns in the battle royal – but that certainly doesn’t rule out her signing with WWE for future appearances.
Making an excellent potential reveal as a surprise entrant in a Royal Rumble, it would be great to see Paige back in action after having been medically unable to compete when she departed WWE.

2. Adam Cole

Adam Cole made an emotional announcement at AEW All In Texas, noting that he was vacating the TNT Championship due to injury.
Unsure if or when he may be back into the ring to address fans again, Cole expressed gratitude for his years in the industry.
Having already contributed to his in-ring catalog, perhaps Cole could consider a return to WWE in a backstage capacity, if his in-ring career is coming to an end.
Known to have a positive relationship with both Triple H and Shawn Michaels, Adam Cole could re-sign with WWE in the future to resume working in NXT.

1. Jack Perry

Former TNT Champion Jack Perry has disappeared from AEW since losing the title to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear 2024.
Although he remains seemingly signed to AEW – his continued absence could end up with a similar result to Ricky Saints.
With WWE potentially keen to capitalize on the name recognition of his famous father Luke Perry as well as potentially provocative presence – Perry could make quite the impact in WWE.
Although it seems unlikely Perry would actually end up in a feud with CM Punk on WWE TV, hell has been known to freeze over every now and again.
