Botchamania: Botches Of The Week #10

1. Bliss Bliss, Bang Bang

I know it’s a regular move for Alexa, but I’m still unsure what part of this move is supposed to be doing the damage as she doesn’t collide with any part of her opponent. Is the set-up flip supposed to hurt and the end bit supposed to be for bragging? Either way, it looks like it’d make a lot more sense for her to land moonsault-style so collision could actually happen but then again the crowd can’t decide if she’s a babyface or a heel so I think this move is the least of her worries.

2. Drew Me A Favor, Plug Me Into A Sega

Out of time, so say goodbye
What is yours, now is mine
And I dream broken ropes
I make them come true
I break them for you
I break them for you…

3. You’re Not Even A Real Journalism

During an interview with a member of the press (who presumably is also moonlighting as a cameraman, I don’t know I’ve never thought about these segments too much as I may come to the conclusion wrestling’s fake) for NXT, the recording device that’s being used enters the frame and clearly shows it’s not recording a damn thing.

Not a huge botch by itself, but the guy recording realizes it’s visible and tries to hide it with his thumb…

…before removing the device from the shot altogether.

NXT is pre-recorded months in advance.

4. Before He Was House-Broken Matt Hardy

Something Else To Wrestle on the WWE Network features a tremendous amount of not-seen-before footage, presumably to pop guys like me who type up lists like this for money fun. On the episode dedicated to The Hardys, they air a clip of a young Matt Hardy sand-bagging Razor Ramon and getting a cheeky slap and a tremendous ”take 2” from Razor.

5. Drugs Don’t Work

Sticking with The Hardys and crazy footage, WWE 24 (the Network’s version of ESPN 30 for 30) features an absurd amount of TNA footage so they could properly show the decline of Jeff’s sanity, culminating in the infamous Victory Road 2011 event.

Bischoff explains that Jeff had to be held up by associates backstage but Dixie Carter insisted he was fine. Prichard says Hardy had to be literally dragged to the match with feet scraping the floor. Bischoff took it upon himself to show up pre-match and tell both men what was happening to salvage what he could of this PPV main event. WWE showed clips of the match without commentary so Eric’s instructions could be heard clearly for the first time and it’s alarming.

As in ”even more alarming than WWE using TNA footage” alarming.

The match (all 1:28 of it) was a black mark for Hardy for years. Luckily, he’s recovered and is currently United States Champion… and working while injured…and was off shows this year due to a DUI…

On that happy note, thanks for reading and go follow me on Twitter for more of the same.
