There could be babyface stars in WWE that are teasing a move to the dark side as they may be turning heel soon.
From mysterious character shifts that have yet to be fully revealed to stars out with injury that could return with a brand new attitude – there could be some intriguing heel turns coming soon in WWE.
Here are five WWE babyface stars that could be on the verge of turning heel.
5. Bayley

There is decidedly something different going on with Bayley as the fan favorite has returned to TV and is a bit off.
As she ran out to save Lyra Valkyria, she very much exuded her old school ‘Hugger Bayley’ persona. Later in a backstage segment when Valkyria went to attempt to thank Bayley, she was instead met by screaming coming from inside Bayley’s private locker room.
Overhearing what sounded like an ongoing argument between the different versions of Bayley, when Lyra entered, it was definitely the ‘Ding Dong Hello’ era Bayley who she encountered – complete with calling her an ‘idiot!’, Bayley dismissed Valkyria.
Seemingly struggling to integrate the different parts of her personality into one persona, the result could certainly mean that an even more vicious version of Bayley is unleashed.

4. Jey Uso

After a recent display of some uncharacteristic selfishness from Uso, some fans started to wonder if he could be teasing a turn to the dark side.
While there haven’t been any extremely overt acts yet, Uso has had more of an edge in recent weeks which continues to keep speculation going.
Potentially going up against fellow fan favorite LA Knight in the near future, the showdown between the pair could end up determining who is the true babyface and who is the heel in real time.
With several routes to take if WWE wanted to truly turn fans against Jey Uso are possible, they don’t seem probable since the massive merch mover has been a big success with kids and families.

3. Rhea Ripley

Potentially forced to bring about some of her past viciousness in pursuit of her current goals, Rhea Ripley may not end up a traditional heel or babyface.
Being able to lean into her brutality when it suits her while having a character that is flexible enough to also demonstrate she’s a good friend and tag team partner, Ripley could pull off a more aggressive in between character.
With Rhea Ripley already having given fair warning to Stephanie Vaquer on the WWE Raw ahead of Wrestlepalooza that she could be coming for her as Women’s World Champion – there are some big stakes on the line.
The next WWE premium live event, Crown Jewel, is set to hail from Ripley’s home country of Australia as the event heads to Perth. A PLE that Ripley wouldn’t want to miss, she could be driven to new desperation in order to get on the card – by any means necessary!

2. Ilja Dragunov

When he was last seen in WWE, Ilja Dragunov was a babyface who was seemingly poised to challenge GUNTHER.
However, his aggression in the ring could mean that he would suit being a heel just as well.
Potentially making for an iconic reveal of new heelish intentions upon his return, Ilja Dragunov could be the exact monster heel that WWE needs for Cody Rhodes, or even John Cena.
Having been out of action for almost a year, Dragunov’s return is expected to happen sometime soon.

1. Randy Orton

If there is any top star that may be the one who could turn heel and stay beloved in most circumstances, it is Randy Orton.
Likely able to still get away with a variety of dastardly deeds, it would possibly take a massive betrayal – like turning on Cody Rhodes – in order to get fans to turn against The Viper.
However, since he is already able to easily exist in the space between babyface and heel, perhaps it would be better for Orton to engage in a battle for heel supremacy with Drew McIntyre.
It could be a more interesting storyline to see Orton resurrect his heel persona in order to vanquish Drew – only to be faced with a moral dilemma surrounding facing Cody Rhodes later once he’s remembered how good it felt to be bad.
