All Elite Wrestling will return to pay-per-view with the Worlds Ends 2025 event on December 27 from Chicago, Illinois.

With this being the last major show of the year, there could be any number of notable returns that take place on that evening.

From long absent stars to returning talent from injury, these comebacks could potentially alter the entire landscape of the promotion moving forward.

Here are eight potential returns at AEW Worlds End 2025.

8. MJF

AEW star MJF

Back at AEW All Out 2025, Mark Briscoe defeated MJF in a Tables N’ Tacks Match. Since this loss, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been absent from the company’s programming due to his film commitments.

The former AEW World Champion has a guaranteed shot at the gold for his return thanks to his win in the Men’s Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In: Texas.

With the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale scheduled for the December 17 Holiday Bash edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF could be on his way back for this bout, unless he’s waiting for the Worlds End event.

Waiting until the pay-per-view, MJF could bide his time to cash in his contract, making the scheduled three-way main event a four-way for the AEW World Championship on Saturday, December 27.

7. Thunder Rosa

AEW star Thunder Rosa

Since losing the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at AEW All In: Texas, Thunder Rosa has been out of action and absent from the company’s television.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion is someone who could help the women’s division as it grows following the recent introduction of the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

After several months away from AEW TV, Rosa will be returning to a totally different picture in the women’s scene and opportunities that were not available earlier this year.

Whether it be teaming with another popular babyface or challenging Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship, Rosa would bring her fiery in-ring style and connection with the fans for her potential return at AEW Worlds End.

6. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

AEW star Britt Baker

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. made her return to All Elite Wrestling in June 2024. However, the former AEW Women’s World Champion was written off of television soon thereafter in November with an unexplained absence.

With Tony Khan answering questions about her hiatus, fans could see Baker return before the end of 2025.

Coming back to the picture after a year away, Baker could become a prominent player in the AEW women’s division again and play a crucial role in the new opportunities being presented for female talent.

Returning at AEW Worlds End could be the best stage for Baker to thrust herself into the spotlight and challenge one of the champions to make a statement heading into the new year.

At AEW Grand Slam: Australia, Kazuchika Okada defeated Buddy Matthews to retain the AEW Continental Championship.

During the course of the bout, Matthews has been absent from AEW programming for the majority of 2025 with an ankle injury.

The Hounds of Hell member has proven himself in singles, tag team and multi-man action time and time again over the past three years since signing with AEW.

AEW Worlds End could see Buddy Matthews return and interject himself into the partnership between Bandido and his Hounds of Hell stablemate Brody King, leading to some drama in that partnership.

Ahead of the AEW Worlds End 2023 pay-per-view, Keith Lee was deemed unable to compete due to back injuries.

Lee has been absent from AEW programming for the past two years since then with little to no explanation from the company.

Following his reveal that he is healthy and ready to compete, fans could soon see “The Limitless One” back on AEW Dynamite and Collision in the weeks to come.

Whether it be as the popular babyfaces fans have grown to love or turning heel for the first time in the company, Keith Lee’s return at AEW Worlds End could present some intriguing storylines coming in 2026.

3. Chris Jericho

Another absent AEW star who could be making their return in the near future is Chris Jericho.

Since losing the ROH World Title to Bandido at AEW Dynasty, Jericho has been away from television with growing rumors that he could be leaving the promotion when his contract expires at the end of the year.

With reports of WWE’s interest in the legend having a farewell run, Jericho could make a brief return to All Elite Wrestling to close out his time in the company.

Making a return at AEW Worlds End, Jericho could be thrusted into a major program with a top star like Hangman Page or Swerve Strickland to close out his time in the company he’s been such an important figure for.

2. Jay White

AEW star Jay White

Ahead of AEW Dynasty, Jay White announced that he suffered a broken hand injury and was sidelined indefinitely.

Making his time away longer, White was also forced to undergo shoulder surgery to recover from lingering injuries.

With recent developments with the Bang Bang Bang as of late, the group could be gearing up for their leader’s return to the company.

White coming back at AEW Worlds End could see Switchblade put into a main event position once more.

1. Andrade

AEW star and former WWE star Andrade El Idolo

Back at the AEW Dynamite: Sixth Anniversary in October, Andrade made his return to the company and attacked Kenny Omega before joining the Don Callis Family.

However, reports following this return indicated that WWE was looking to enforce a one-year non-compete clause on Andrade following his exit from that company.

If Andrade is able to work with WWE to get out of this clause, the Don Callis Family member could make a return to All Elite Wrestling sooner rather than later.

A return at AEW Worlds End could see Andrade restart his rivalry with Omega before the start of the new year.
