AEW Forbidden Door 2025 is set to go overseas for the first time in the event’s history, with the company taking over the 02 Arena in London, England on August 24.
With multiple titles on the line at the upcoming pay-per-view event, it seems likely that some of AEW’s top prizes may soon be heading to new homes.
Here are five AEW title changes that are potentially coming soon.
5. AEW Unified Championship – Swerve Strickland

AEW Forbidden Door 2025 is set to see Kazuchika Okada defend the Unified Championship against Swerve Strickland.
While Okada just won the title at All In Texas, it actually may benefit both competitors if the championship changes hands on August 24.
Going on to elevate the Unified Championship, Swerve could bump up interest in what could happen next with this particular title picture, including Okada chasing the gold heading into the Fall.
With Kenny Omega’s return potentially coming soon as well, a title scene involving “The Best Bout Machine”, Okada and Strickland would be exciting to see unfold.

4. AEW TBS Championship – Alex Windsor

Still in her first reign as the TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone has now held the title for 440 days.
While she is set to defend the title in a four-way against stars from STARDOM & CMLL that have yet to be revealed, there is also an AEW representative in the bout: Alex Windsor.
Potentially able to give Alex Windsor a big victory in her home country, it remains to be seen if the time will really be right for Mone to lose her AEW championship.
In fairness, she will continue to have seven other titles – the CMLL World Women’s Championship, RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, Owen Hart Cup Title, the lesser known Queen of Southside Championship, the EWA Women’s Title, the Prime Time Wrestling Women’s Championship, and the BestYa Wrestling Women’s Championship.

3. AEW World Tag Team Championship – Brodido

After picking up the titles from Private Party back in January, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) have remained AEW Tag Team Champions.
With the recent pairing of Brody King and Bandido taking off, it could be time for Brodido to pick up a title win after making it to the finals of a tournament to determine who would face the Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door.
Brodido will first have to get through another top contender, FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) in order to get to London.
Either way, it seems that the AEW Tag Team Championship could be poised to change hands sooner rather than later.

2. AEW Women’s World Championship – Athena

Now that it is official that Athena will be taking on Timeless Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship — it could be that Forbidden Door 2025 sees the big title change take place.
Offering up an opportunity for Timeless Toni Storm to take some time away to keep her character fresh through disappearing for a bit — Athena can also go on a monster run in AEW, similar to her “Forever” ROH Women’s World Title run that is approaching the 1000 day mark.
Potentially building to create another top babyface star in the future like Willow Nightingale or Jamie Hayter, the change would also serve to tell more compelling stories in the AEW women’s division.
When Timeless Toni Storm does return, her quest to reclaim her AEW Women’s Championship will be wildly entertaining, and could lead to an inevitable rematch with Mercedes Mone.

1. AEW TNT Championship – Eddie Kingston

With Kyle Fletcher capturing the TNT Championship alongside Don Callis — it would make sense to see comeuppance for the pair sooner rather than later.
Potentially dropping the TNT Championship to a rival to kick-off a series, it would be a nice touch to see Fletcher on the receiving end of some antics.
Every top heel needs a top babyface to be on a perpetual quest to thwart them and Fletcher has several potential rivals.
While there are options in the form of Daniel Garcia, Kyle O’Reilly or even a returning Orange Cassidy – “The Mad King” Eddie Kingston could be the best choice to step up and ensure Fletcher’s run is a short one, providing he’s able to return from injury in the near future.
