Many fans have been speculating a future that could see AJ Styles finishing his retirement tour in AEW after his recent final match with WWE at the Royal Rumble.
While it now looks like Styles has finished up his in-ring career, there could be some stars on the AEW roster who might follow in his footsteps by retiring in WWE as well.
Looking at the roster, there are a variety of names who have either spent some time in WWE or look poised to potentially make the jump to the promotion in the future.
Here are eight AEW stars to potentially retire in WWE.
8. Chris Jericho

Over the past year, no one has been in the headlines regarding their future in pro wrestling more than Chris Jericho.
The inaugural AEW World Champion has his contract about to expire soon, which could see him making the jump to WWE.
After recent reports indicating that WWE has strong interest in the legend, it feels inevitable that he will make the move to WWE sooner rather than later.
At 55 years old, Jericho will be looking to finish up his in-ring career with WWE and get a grand retirement tour that his legacy deserves before heading into the Hall of Fame.

7. Adam Copeland

From one potential Hall of Famer to a current Hall of Famer, Adam Copeland is another former WWE star who is signed to All Elite Wrestling.
Since signing with AEW in 2023, Copeland has established himself as a top star for the promotion and a former two-time TNT Champion.
While he seems happy in AEW and has even reunited with Christian Cage, it would not surprise anyone to see Copeland make a return in WWE.
Wanting to end his career in the promotion he called home for so long, “The Rated R Superstar” is a living legend who deserves to close out his career in WWE whenever he wants to hang his boots up.

5. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

AEW fans have not seen Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. on the company’s programming for well over a year now.
Last seen in November 2024, Baker’s absence has garnered plenty of discussion with many questioning when she could make a return or if she will leave the promotion out right.
Considered by many fans to be one of the first homegrown stars to rise to prominence in the company, Baker is a former AEW Women’s World Champion and someone who has provided plenty of memorable matches and moments over her run.
After spending six years with the promotion, Baker might need fresh scenery like WWE to really revitalize her career and might decide to retire with that company after making the move.

4. Wardlow

Back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, Wardlow made his return to the company and joined the Don Callis Family.
However, this return was short-lived with Wardlow getting injured while training for his in-ring comeback.
After another abrupt return, it seems like the three-time TNT Champion might not have the brightest future ahead of him in All Elite Wrestling.
With his size and credentials, it feels like Wardlow might be better off heading to WWE when he is healthy and eventually hang up his boots with the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.

3. Keith Lee

Another AEW star who has had to deal with injuries throughout his run with the company is Keith Lee.
Signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2022, Lee felt like a major free agent acquisition and was immediately thrusted into a prominent role.
Now a former AEW World Tag Team Champion, Lee has not appeared on the company’s television since being sidelined in December 2023 due to lingering injuries.
Considering it has been well over two years since his absence, Lee might need to leave AEW and head back to WWE where he could finish off his career under the new creative regime led by his former NXT boss, Triple H.

2. MJF

Since rising to the top of All Elite Wrestling, many fans and pundits have pegged MJF as someone who would be a megastar for WWE down the line.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman is the current and two-time AEW World Champion, while delivering some of the greatest matches and moments in the company’s history.
Despite his status as a top star for AEW, MJF still gets questions about eventually making the jump to WWE sometime in the future.
Considering he will turn 30 years old this year, it feels highly likely that MJF will one day sign with WWE and could conclude his career in that promotion.

1. Mercedes Moné

Over a decade with WWE, Sasha Banks cemented her place among the greatest women’s wrestlers in the company’s history.
Leaving the promotion in 2022, Banks reinvented herself as Mercedes Moné and has since elevated her legacy to the next level outside of the WWE bubble.
Signing with AEW in 2024, Moné became the longest reigning TBS Champion and set the record by holding 13 different titles all over the world for multiple promotions.
Mercedes Moné eventually making a return to WWE could be compelling to watch unfold and see “The CEO” close out her career in the place she originally made a name for herself.
