With plenty of talent on the AEW roster, there are some stars who haven’t been seen on AEW Dynamite in ages poised to return.
From fan favorites out of action due to injury or others that seem likely to make their return stateside soon — there are quite a few potential AEW Dynamite returns on the horizon.
Here are seven AEW stars that could be returning to Dynamite soon.
7. Jay White
A top star that could be returning to AEW’s flagship Wednesday night show soon is Switchblade Jay White.
While Jay White has been out of action for seven months due to injury, he has also remained silent on Twitter during that time.
However intriguingly, he did take to his social media account on October 16 to post the simple message: “Ready?”
Potentially marking a return on the horizon for the leader of the Bang Bang Gang, it could be that Jay White is returning to AEW Dynamite as early as this week.

6. Hikaru Shida
One AEW fan favorite that has been absent from AEW Dynamite for the entirety of 2025 has been Hikaru Shida.
While Shida competed against Kris Statlander in November 2024, she has since been in Japan competing in various promotions as well as starring in a stage production about a retiring female wrestler.
Despite her recent acting role though, Shida has no plans to retire from AEW and rather has recently confirmed that she has signed a new contract with the promotion.
Noting that she renewed both her contract and VISA, Shida could be making a return on AEW Dynamite sometime soon.

5. MJF
One AEW star that hasn’t been off AEW Dynamite for too long but his absence has been felt is MJF.
Having been out of action since the Tables n’ Tacks match against Mark Briscoe at AEW All Out last month, MJF could be making a return to action on AEW TV soon.
Potentially looking to challenge Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Championship, a return from the former champ who remains intent on recapturing gold could make sense.
With the next AEW pay-per-view set to be Full Gear 2025 in New Jersey, it seems likely he will be back in the mix soon.

4. Britt Baker
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. hasn’t appeared on AEW TV since November 2024 when she had a singles bout against Penelope Ford.
When Tony Khan was recently asked about Baker’s status with AEW, he responded that she had been great in the company and that while she had “been away from AEW for awhile,” she was “still very much with us”.
Adding that that at hopefully soon he would love to see Dr. Britt Baker come back.
Since Khan could know what storylines he has planned ahead for the AEW women’s division, perhaps the response was a clue.

While speculation has swirled regarding Chris Jericho’s potential departure from AEW, there has been a recent comment from Tony Khan that could inspire hope.
When asked about several AEW stars who haven’t been seen in quite some time, Khan mentioned that Jericho was a big part of AEW’s history and “always welcome”.
Going on to say that he thought fans would see what happens here in the next few months, it could be that Khan is aware of a surprise storyline ahead in his own company.
