6 New AEW Signings

With the next AEW pay-per-view just around the corner, the door is open for some potential new signings to arrive in the company.

While some have had their names rumored for a while, others could come as a surprise to fans as little has been revealed about some of their future plans.

Here are six potential new AEW signings.

6. Josh Alexander

AEW fans continue to hotly anticipate the potential arrival of the Walking Weapon, Josh Alexander.

Alexander seemingly remains a free agent as far as we know but the former TNA World Champion and X-Division Champion has been rumored to be AEW bound.

While his future remains technically uncertain, it is difficult to imagine Alexander doesn’t end up All Elite.

However, since he is able to add experience to any locker room, he will be a great addition no matter where he ends up.

5. Kevin Knight

Kevin Knight’s contract is reportedly done with NJPW but his free agency has gotten attention from both WWE and AEW.

The two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion would be a great addition to either roster, able to captivate fans with his in-ring abilities.

While it was rumored that there was interest from WWE, there has also been an intriguing development regarding AEW.

It was noted that Knight met with Tony Khan and Rocky Romero after making a recent appearance in ROH, so it’s possible his future was discussed at that point and more will be revealed soon.

4. Indi Hartwell

Indi Hartwell recently competed in a dream match against Mercedes Mone at House of Glory in New York City.

While Mone did pick up the victory over Hartwell, the nearly 15-minute match served as a great showcase for Indi Hartwell’s abilities.

The Australian would be a great addition to AEW – perhaps even alongside Mone as the CEO is seemingly still on the hunt for more allies.

With so much future promise, Indi Hartwell would be an big signing wherever she lands and is hopefully given the spotlight to show WWE what they missed out on.

3. Alexander Hammerstone

Alex Hammerstone is now believed to be a free agent after his contract with TNA Wrestling came to an end earlier this month.

While he has previously appeared on NXT reportedly with interest from WWE, he may end up being swooped up by AEW.

Hammerstone has a history with MJF in MLW, partnering together in the Dynasty faction, which would be an interesting group to resurrect at the aptly named AEW Dynasty coming up in April 2025 – especially with MVP seemingly wanting to recruit MJF into the Hurt Syndicate.

Whether or not he resumes his partnership with MJF, Hammerstone would be a great addition to the AEW roster.

2. Sidney Akeem

Despite not being the most high profile of free agents, Sidney Akeem – formerly known as Reggie and Scrypts in WWE – could fit in AEW.

With a background with Cirque du Soleil as an acrobat, his signature high flying style would be in good company alongside the likes of Hologram, Ricochet and others.

Recently reminding promoters on social media that he was taking bookings, it seems he is still a free agent, and it would be very fun to see him in AEW.

Whether or not he’d get the opportunity to do more than he did in WWE, he would still be a very cool addition to a team looking for a sidekick.

1. Cedric Alexander

A former WWE star that seems entirely likely to pop up in AEW is Cedric Alexander.

The rest of the former WWE faction the Hurt Business now back in business as the Hurt Syndicate in AEW – only awaiting Cedric Alexander to complete the group.

Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP remain together in AEW and would finally be complete as a group should AEW sign Cedric Alexander.

The veteran certainly has plenty left to offer as a performer whether alone or as a member of the group, and it would be a feel-good moment to see the faction reunited in its entirety.
