While one could consider the replacement concept to be literally subbing in for Tony Khan in his AEW roles as CEO, President and driving force behind creative – this list actually more refers to who could serve as an on-screen figurehead on behalf of Khan.

One such example could easily be former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson who is notably beloved by both Khan and the AEW audience alike. Able to serve as a respected and balanced voice of reason, Danielson could be the most pragmatic character on this list.

Whether or not that CEO ends up being righteous or dastardly is entirely up to Khan and the creative team potentially making for a compelling, long term mystery arc.

With Adam Cole out of action, it could be a fun use of Paragon (the group of Cole, Strong and Kyle O’Reilly) to actually become a rotating proxy for Khan.

One of the industry’s lowkey legends, Strong still has a lot of interesting stories left to tell in his career.

1. The Young Bucks

After having lost their EVP titles in storyline, Nick and Matt Jackson have seemingly taken a sharp tumble in terms of political power in AEW.

Now barely even able to get graphics with their correct name on it, the duo have struggled to be announced to the ring and have had lack luster entrances since losing their status.

However, they could be able to to somehow regain their power albeit even more authority by actually taking over for Tony Khan in the event of the latter’s spooky disappearance.
