Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega is one of the most important and influential figures in pro wrestling of the past two decades.
Being one of the key figures responsible for the creation of All Elite Wrestling, Omega has established his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation.
With reports of his desire to limit singles matches and winding down his in-ring run, fans could be very close to seeing Omega’s eventual retirement match in All Elite Wrestling.
Here are ten potential Kenny Omega final AEW opponents.
10. Kazuchika Okada
At AEW All In: Texas 2025. Kazuchika Okada defeated Kenny Omega to become the first-ever AEW Unified Champion.
In their first match in seven years, Okada proved himself to be the better man and made history in the process.
However, this made their record 2-2-1 through five singles matches between Okada and Omega throughout their careers.
Okada being Omega’s final opponent just feel appropriate and logical based on the critically acclaimed series of matches they have had that truly change the wrestling business.

9. Konosuke Takeshita
When Konosuke Takeshita first debuted in All Elite Wrestling, it was thanks to Kenny Omega who saw a bright future for the DDT star.
Since then, fans have seen Takeshita evolve into one of the best wrestlers in the world today.
After turning heel on Omega and joining forces with Don Callis, Takeshita has become “The Alpha” and truly taken himself to the next level.
With their two previous meetings in AEW having their record at 1-1, a rubber match between Omega and Takeshita would feel like a huge match for the retirement of “The Cleaner.”

8. Kyle Fletcher
Ahead of AEW All Out 2025, Kyle Fletcher staked his claim for a shot at Hangman Adam Page’s AEW World Championship by taking out Kenny Omega.
Delivering a Sheer Drop Brainbuster off the apron through a table at ringside, Fletcher showcased his dominance and put Omega on the shelf for weeks.
However, Omega returned to the company one month after this attack and has yet to go after “The Protostar” for revenge.
In what will be a passing of the torch matchup, Fletcher could take the mantle away from Kenny Omega before he decides to hang up his boots for good.

7. Jon Moxley
When All Elite Wrestling first started in 2019, the first major rivalry that the company produced was Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley.
Making his debut at AEW Double Or Nothing 2019, Moxley went right after Omega and set the stage for a feud that has defined the company.
Waging war in Lights Out and Steel Cage matches, Omega and Moxley have been through it all against one another over the course of the past six years.
After staking their claim as the greatest AEW stars of all time, it would feel like a logical close to Omega’s career if he clashes with Moxley one more time in an AEW ring.

6. Samoa Joe
At AEW Full Gear 2025, Samoa Joe defeated Hangman Adam Page in a Steel Cage Match to win the AEW World Championship.
This was a big change considering Joe and Page stood side by side in the war against The Death Riders. Another AEW star who was part of their side against Jon Moxley and company is Kenny Omega.
Taking a leadership role, Omega and Joe led the team with Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale and The Opps to defeat The Death Riders and The Young Bucks in Anarchy In The Arena at AEW Double Or Nothing 2025.
Despite their own separate legacies, Joe and Omega have not faced each other in a singles match. With two all time greats and potentially the AEW World Title on the line, Omega and Joe would be a huge dream match to close Kenny’s career.

5. Will Ospreay
Back in 2023, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay put on two of the greatest in-ring encounters of all time in New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling.
To many fans, it felt like Ospreay was being passed the torch of “Best Bout Machine” from Omega through this rivalry over the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.
To start 2025, Omega and Ospreay put their differences aside for a mutual enemy in the Don Callis Family where they teamed to defeat Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
Wanting to prove who is the better man after splitting those two meetings in 2023, Ospreay would feel like the perfect opponent for Omega in his retirement match.

4. MJF
Another AEW star who has faced Kenny Omega only once in the company is Maxwell Jacob Friedman, better known as MJF.
Back in 2023, MJF defeated Omega to become the longest reigning AEW World Champion of all time.
While this bout proved to be exceptional, it took place on an episode of AEW Collision and feels worthy of being a pay-per-view main event.
MJF being Omega’s final opponent would give “The Cleaner” one of the most dastardly and detestable figures in AEW history as his retirement match, which should make the fans rally behind him even more.

3. Swerve Strickland
As previously mentioned, Kenny Omega teamed with Swerve Strickland to go to war in the Anarchy In The Arena alongside Willow Nightingale and The Opps against The Death Riders and The Young Bucks at AEW Double Or Nothing 2025.
Despite being by each other’s sides against Jon Moxley and company, Omega and Swerve have been mostly separate during their runs in AEW over the years.
Having never met each other in a singles bout in the company, Omega and Swerve feels like a tantalizing dream match that fans would be begging to see.
Strickland has always been someone who is looking for his next big win and it does not get much bigger than being the man to retire Kenny Omega from AEW.

2. Hangman Adam Page
In the fall of 2025, Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega had a brief reunion, which saw the former tag team partner come together to battle the Don Callis Family.
Page has found himself back in the main event scene after redeeming himself by being the man to dethrone Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title at All In: Texas 2025.
Throughout their time in the promotion, Hangman and Omega have faced each other twice with a 1-1 record.
Having split their first two meetings, Omega and Hangman could finally see who the better man is between these former AEW World Tag Team Champions in the final match for “The Best Bout Machine.”

1. The Young Bucks
Nothing makes more sense than for Kenny Omega’s career to come to an end alongside The Young Bucks.
The foundation of All Elite Wrestling was built on the hard work and dedication of Omega and The Bucks, who first created The Elite in New Japan Pro Wrestling and propelled themselves to superstardom.
Now all these years later, it would feel more than appropriate to see Omega face off with his best friends when he decides to announce his final match.
Whether it be teaming with Hangman Page or Kota Ibushi, Omega finding a partner to put on a classic against The Bucks should be the only way AEW decides to end the career of one of their all-time greats.
