AEW Double Or Nothing has shaped up to be one of the biggest and most important pay-per-views of the year for the company.
While the whole card has been announced, there could be some last minute changes that adds even more attention for this huge event from Louis Armstrong Stadium.
From added stipulation to additional stakes, this Double Or Nothing card could be bolstered to become something truly special before the show gets underway.
Here are six potential last minute changes to AEW Double Or Nothing 2026.
6. Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly AEW Continental Title Match becomes a Submission match
On the May 20 edition of AEW Dynamite and Collision, Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly went to a 20 minute time limit draw in their AEW Continental Title Eliminator.
Due to making it to the limit with the champion, O’Reilly earned himself a rematch for the gold at AEW Double Or Nothing.
Wanting to have no time limit this time around, O’Reilly will have as long as he needs to get the job done, while Moxley will try to avenge his losses to his rival in 2025.
After being made to submit twice to The Conglomeration member, Moxley should demand this bout becomes a Submission Match to make O’Reilly tap out at AEW Double Or Nothing.
5. The Wild Card entrant vs. Alex Windsor match in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal gets added to the card

Alex Windsor’s most recent title match in AEW saw her lose to Women’s World Champion Thekla on the May 15 Collision Spring BreakThru special.
Willow Nightingale announced on May 20 that she had suffered a serious shoulder injury that forced her to relinquish the TBS Title and be removed from the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament.
In Willow’s place, a Wild Card entrant will replace the former two-time TBS Champion against Alex Windsor.
Nightingale’s scheduled bout against Windsor was also pulled from the lineup for AEW Double Or Nothing as well.
The company could add this Wild Card vs. Windsor bout to the card at the last minute and reveal who will be the competitor to replace Willow in the Owen Hart Cup.
4. If Zayda Steel & Viva Van survive five minutes with Divine Dominion on the Buy In, they earn a shot at the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles on the main card

Following the May 20 AEW Dynamite and Collision, Zayda Steel and Viva Van issued a challenge to AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion.
Wanting to prove themselves as formidable opponents, Steel and Van will be looking to survive Divine Dominion’s five-minute Eliminator.
If Steel and Van survive, they will earn a shot at Megan Bayne and Lena Kross’ AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship.
All Elite Wrestling could add this title bout to the main card for the pay-per-view if Steel and Van survive five minutes with Bayne and Kross.
3. Kazuchika Okada vs. Konosuke Takeshita AEW International Championship Match becomes Best Two Out of Three Falls
Back at AEW Worlds End 2025, Kazuchika Okada defeated Konosuke Takeshita in the Continental Classic semifinals and advanced to the finals later in the show.
This victory for Okada came as a result of “The Rainmaker” using the Don Callis signature screwdriver on Takeshita.
The rivalry between Okada and Takeshita has been simmering ever since then with both men looking to prove themselves as the best that the Don Callis Family has to offer.
Takeshita vs. Okada getting a Best Two Out of Three Falls stipulation would determine who truly deserves to walk out of AEW Double Or Nothing as the International Champion.
2. Thekla vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Kris Statlander vs. Jamie Hayter AEW Women’s World Championship match becomes a Four-Way Elimination Match

Thekla won the AEW Women’s World Championship from Kris Statlander on the February 11 Dynamite episode.
At AEW Double Or Nothing, Thekla will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter in a four-way match.
With three opponents in this bout, “The Toxic Spider” will have the odds against her in this contest.
To give her somewhat of a better chance to win, Thekla could suggest that this bout becomes an elimination match.
Instead of one fall to the finish where she doesn’t have to be pinned, Thekla could work the numbers to her advantage and potentially retain the gold in New York City.
1. Darby Allin vs. MJF AEW World Title vs. Hair Match gets a No DQ, No Countout stipulation
Over the past few weeks, things have certainly heated up between Darby Allin and MJF on their way to the main event of AEW Double Or Nothing.
Derby vs. MJF will be a Title vs. Hair Match with Maxwell Jacob Friedman being forced to shave his head bald if he loses this championship contest at the pay-per-view.
While this stipulation should be more than enough, AEW could add another stipulation to make this bout even more tantalizing to watch.
During his title reign, Allin has excelled in a No Countout matches and MJF is known for using the rules very loosely, so the company could make this AEW Double Or Nothing headliner a No DQ, No Countout match as well.
