From real life factors to storyline changes that had to be made, there are some top WWE stars who were removed from Night of Champions 2025.
With legitimate injuries striking several top WWE stars and the subsequent shifts brought about, there were definitely changes made to the upcoming event.
Here are eight WWE stars who ended up being removed from Night of Champions 2025.
8. Jey Uso

After losing the World Heavyweight Championship to GUNTHER, Jey Uso would go on to grasp the last spot in the King of the Ring tournament.
While he was able to win the quarter-final match against Bronson Reed, Rusev and Sheamus, the next round featured a singles match against Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes would beat Uso, advancing to the final to take on Randy Orton to determine who’ll become the 2025 King of the Ring, meaning Jey Uso is without a spot on the card.
While there have been rumors of a potential reunion between Jimmy and Jey Uso, it doesn’t seem like it’ll be happening at Night of Champions.

7. Liv Morgan

After an on-screen interaction with Nikki Bella – which certainly seemed to suggest there was a feud coming between at least the pair that could possibly evolve at Night of Champions – Morgan suffered an injury.
During a match with Kairi Sane on the June 16 edition of WWE Raw, the match was stopped early after Liv was unable to continue.
Morgan had suffered a shoulder injury that would require surgery.
While there isn’t a specific timeline for her potential return, it sounds as though she is set to miss at least several months of in-ring action.

6. Alexa Bliss

While she did participate in a first round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament, Alexa Bliss failed to advance.
She has gone on to continue to seemingly target Charlotte Flair fot “an alliance of convenience”.
That is a prospect that Flair seems to be considering.
They both appeareed on WWE SmackDown so they are in Saudi Arabia, but there doesn’t seem any reason for them to be involved with Night of Champions itself.

5. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins wasn’t set for an appearance at WWE Night of Champions 2025 as a singles competitor, but Mr Money in the Bank never needs an excuse to be anywhere.
Not only does his status as the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase holder make him liable to pop-up at anyplace and at any time – there were two other ways Rollins could have been headed to Riyadh.
While both Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed haD shots at the King of the Ring tournament, neither advanced in their respective matches and also are not scheduled for any matches at Night of Champions.
There hasn’t been any sign on-screen that Rollins could make a surprise appearance at the event but given the main event match features John Cena taking on Rollins’ mortal enemy CM Punk – anything could happen.

4. IYO SKY

While the Queen of the Ring tournament final may have a big impact on the rest of the summer for IYO SKY, the WWE Women’s World Champion IS not featured on the card for Night of Champions.
However, given the direction of how things were looking on Raw, SKY may have had a spot of her own on the show.
SKY had been embroiled with Liv Morgan before Morgan’s recent injury, which may have led to a title match at Night of Champions, even though it was never officially announced.
Instead that match, Morgan’s tag team partner Raquel Rodriguez will take on Rhea Ripley in a street fight instead.

3. Chad Gable

Neither Chad Gable nor El Grande Americano made the WWE Night of Champions 2025 card for a legitimate reason.
In a recent backstage altercation, Chad Gable was taken out by Penta after Gable mocked him over his first round performance in the King of the Ring tournament.
However, it would later be reported that the reason for the beatdown was to write Gable off of TV related to a real life injury.
Gable reportedly requires a shoulder surgery that will see him out of action for an undetermined number of months.

2. Dominik Mysterio

Dirty Dominik Mysterio found himself removed from the WWE Night of Champions 2025 card.
Confirmed as a legitimate injury, the Intercontinental Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles was cancelled.
However since Dom will be set for action again sooner rather than later, the match will seemingly still take place.
Despite the delay, it doesn’t seem the character of Dirty Dom will be able to outrun AJ Styles since it has already been noted that Styles vs. Mysterio will happen whenever the Judgment Day star returns.

1. AJ Styles

AJ Styles is one of two WWE stars that found themselves off of the WWE Night of Champions 2025 card after already being confirmed for a match at the event.
Unlike Dominik Mysterio who did feature in a first round King of the Ring four-way match against Bron Breakker, Penta and winner Sami Zayn – Styles wasn’t in the tournament.
Reports have noted that the injury to Mysterio is not so serious that the Intercontinental Championship will be vacated.
Instead it seems that Styles’ clash with Mysterio is on pause – but potentially not for terribly long as Adam Pearce as already confirmed that when he is back in action, Styles gets the next shot at Dom.
