The last major stop for All Elite Wrestling on the road to Wembley Stadium will be the AEW Redemption pay-per-view from Montreal, Quebec, Canada on Sunday, July 26.

With just five weeks remaining before their biggest show of the year, Redemption could shake the foundation of the company with some long awaited returns at the Bell Centre.

There are quite a few stars who have been absent from AEW, whether it be from injury or just lengthy hiatuses from the promotion.

Here are eight potential returns at AEW Redemption 2026.

8. Buddy Matthews

Back in February 2025, Buddy Matthews suffered a serious ankle injury that has sidelined him for well over a year.

The former House of Black member has been teasing his return to the company on social media as of late, which has caused some excitement among the fanbase.

With Matthews now reportedly cleared to get back in the mix, we could potentially see the Australian star back as soon as the AEW Redemption 2026 pay-per-view.

With how much ability and skill he has in the ring, Matthews should be returning with a chip on his shoulder, so a return at AEW Redemption 2026 could see him thrusted directly back into the spotlight in a major way.

7. Wardlow

Back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026, Wardlow made his return to the company after over a year away.

However, the three-time TNT Champion suffered an unfortunately timed injury during this return which sidelined him once again.

With his recent injury hiatus lasting nearly a year, Wardlow could get right back into the fold at AEW Redemption 2026.

Considering AEW All In London 2026 is approaching and joining the Don Callis Family, Wardlow might position himself for a prominent spot on the Wembley Stadium card in Montreal.

6. Hologram

In late 2025, Hologram suffered a serious knee injury that put him on the shelf ever since.

The masked luchador left All Elite Wrestling with the greatest undefeated singles streak of any AEW star in company history.

Hologram making his return at AEW Redemption 2026 would be a smart move to put him back in time for the huge Wembley Stadium show.

Considering how he was sidelined following an attack from El Clon, Hologram making a return might set up a long awaited grudge match at All In London on August 30.

5. Ruby Soho

Ruby Soho has been away from All Elite Wrestling since 2024 when she announced that she and ‘Cool Hand’ Angelo Parker will have their first child.

While she has been busy with motherhood, there have been photos posted on social media of Soho training in the ring to prepare for her in-ring return in the future.

Prior to her pregnancy, Soho was one of the most featured female stars on the AEW roster.

Bringing Soho back in time for AEW Redemption would add further depth to the women’s division in a meaningful way.

4. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Britt Baker hasn’t wrestled since the November 13, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Another AEW star who has been away from the promotion since 2024 is Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion was one of the biggest female stars in the company’s history and has left her mark on the business.

The questions surrounding Baker’s absence has been one of the most talked about topics in the industry and could finally be silenced with a return at AEW Redemption 2026.

Baker coming back in time for AEW All In London 2026 should be a priority to add a past star to the women’s division on the road to Wembley Stadium.

3. Samoa Joe

At AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Will Ospreay defeated Samoa Joe to advance to the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semifinals.

Following the event, Joe announced that he would be taking some time away from All Elite Wrestling to head back to Hollywood.

Leaving The Opps with HOOK in charge, Joe could make his way back for the company’s return to Montreal.

Joe returning at AEW Redemption 2026 could see him immediately place himself in a high profile position in time for Wembley Stadium this August.

2. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page

On the July 11 episode of AEW Collision, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page made his return to the company after being absent since Revolution 2026.

Due to his loss at AEW Revolution 2026, Page can no longer challenge for the AEW World Title ever again, which he reiterated once again during his return.

The former two-time AEW World Champion’s comeback has not been mentioned on Dynamite over the past few weeks, which opens the door for the company to give him a second return at the pay-per-view.

‘Hangman’ returning at Redemption 2026 might see him step up to one of the other singles champions in the company for a big time title bout potentially at AEW All In London 2026.

1. Swerve Strickland

2026 has been an interesting year for Swerve Strickland, as he returned to his heel roots for the first time since 2024.

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026, Strickland lost to Will Ospreay in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Finals.

Swerve has been absent from AEW programming ever since, which is his second lengthy hiatus from the company in recent months.

‘The Most Dangerous Man’ should be positioned in a major bout on the All In London 2026, so a return at Redemption for Swerve would be a wise decision for the company as well as the former AEW World Champion.
