With WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 still to come on Saturday, February 28, we understandably still only have one match official for WrestleMania 42.
However, even though CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Title Match has been agreed upon, Punk still has to get past Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber to make sure that blockbuster match happens.
Evidently there is still a lot to be decided before we get to April 18-19, but we may have some indication of where WWE’s creative plans are heading as WrestleMania 42 draws closer.
Here are eight matches to potentially be added to WWE WrestleMania 42.
Undisputed WWE Championship – Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu

While only one star can book their ticket to an Undisputed WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania 42 by winning the Elimination Chamber, there is a chance we could still see a three-way for Drew McIntyre’s title in Las Vegas.
The extent in which Jacob Fatu has been involved in the Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes feud seems to signify that “The Samoan Werewolf” will factor into the title scene, despite not having a clear path to earning a shot.
Cody Rhodes in all likelihood will earn the Undisputed WWE Title shot by winning the Chamber, but with Nick Aldis promising Fatu that he would also get a chance to face Drew, perhaps a three-way will be announced post WrestleMania 42.
Even if Jacob has to earn his way in by defeating Cody or another top contender such as Randy Orton, WWE should certainly go with a three-way rather than booking yet another singles match between Cody and Drew for WrestleMania 42.

Aleister Black vs. Randy Orton

Speaking of Randy Orton, while he also could be involved in a multi-man match for Drew McIntyre’s Undisputed WWE Title following “The Scottish Warrior’s” attack on him during the main event of SmackDown, it seems perhaps likelier that WWE may flesh out his current rivalry with Aleister Black instead.
With Black seeking to bring out the “old Randy Orton”, it feels as if his mission won’t be complete until “The Viper” is back punting people’s heads off their shoulders once more.
Perhaps interfering in the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match in order to prevent Orton from winning, Black can poke and prod the veteran until an eventual match between the two at WrestleMania.
Likely carrying a stipulation of some kind such as Hell in a Cell or a Casket Match, Orton can look to put Black away on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

WWE World Tag Team Championships – The Usos (c) vs. The Vision (Bronson Reed & Austin Theory)

With Bron Breakker’s status unknown for WrestleMania 42, it’s really hard to predict what plans WWE have in store for The Vision in Las Vegas.
One match that seems perhaps likeliest for the group at present is a WWE World Tag Title showdown with The Usos.
Jimmy and Jey have yet to be presented with a truly credible threat to their gold since capturing the titles in late 2025 and The Vision have still somehow yet to truly pursue the belts either throughout the faction’s existence.
This makes for a perfect opportunity to showcase the titles in a high profile spot on the WrestleMania 42 card and raise their importance.

WWE Women’s World Championship – Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan

While Liv Morgan has yet to officially decide her WrestleMania 42 opponent as of yet, that decision seems clear following Stephanie Vaquer’s scathing promo on the February 16 WWE Raw.
Tearing down the credibility of Morgan’s path to get to the top of WWE in comparison to her own, Vaquer’s words led the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble to tear up – something not often seen from a heel star on WWE TV.
The confrontation immediately got people talking, including former WWE star Mickie James who jumped to Morgan’s defense.
With intrigue in the match being spiked by this personal exchange, Vaquer and Morgan could even be a candidate to close out Night One of WrestleMania 42.

Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

A clash of the titans took place during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match as “The Ruler” Oba Femi came face-to-face with “The Beast” Brock Lesnar.
The meeting had fans buzzing and considering Lesnar eliminated Femi from the match, many are anticipating a one-on-one match between the two at WrestleMania 42.
So far there has been zero evidence of this being built on WWE TV, with Oba yet to decide upon which brand he’s going to sign with and Lesnar not being seen since the Rumble event on January 31.
While reports have suggested that Lesnar may be on course for a match with LA Knight, most fans would agree that a clash with WWE’s potential “Next Big Thing” Oba Femi is the more appealing option.

“The Original” El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano – Mask vs. Mask

Chad Gable’s long-awaited return from injury at the Royal Rumble saw the former Olympian not return as himself, but rather don the mask of El Grande Americano once again.
Confronting the man who took over the El Grande Americano role in his absence – Ludwig Kaiser – the pair have been at each other’s throats across WWE and AAA in the weeks that have followed.
With continued teases of an unmasking, it seems like WWE may be leading towards a big Mask vs. Mask Match between the pair at WrestleMania 42.
While Gable did a phenomenal job in the role before his shoulder injury, Ludwig Kaiser has arguably surpassed him and seems better suited to take it into the future. This would then open up Gable to return to being himself and hopefully receive a push towards his first piece of singles championship gold in 2026.

WWE Women’s Championship – Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

With no Bianca Belair return in sight, the field for the Women’s Elimination Chamber is truly wide open, with the result having the potential to go many different ways.
While Tiffany Stratton may now seem to be the favorite given her past history with Jade and the WWE Women’s Championship, the more exciting match on paper would certainly be Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley.
Ripley is arguably the biggest star WWE have at present regardless of gender, so the logical move would be for her to feature in one of WrestleMania’s marquee bouts.
With RHIYO’s WWE Women’s Tag Titles under threat from Lash Legend and Nia Jax, Rhea and IYO SKY losing the titles on the February 27 episode of SmackDown could open up Ripley to win the Chamber and book a major match against Cargill in Las Vegas.

Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker

While the match was already seemingly a doubt for the WrestleMania 42 card given Seth Rollins’ uncertain injury return status, Bron Breakker suffering a hernia has only made this one feel even more uncertain.
While it may be unlikely, both Rollins and Breakker are reportedly “rehabbing their asses off” to get back as soon as possible.
With two months still until “The Showcase of the Immortals,” there is a chance we could see this one happen in the end, or perhaps we could at least see Rollins return to face off with another member of The Vision instead.
Whether it be Breakker, Logan Paul or Bronson Reed, Rollins’ return would provide the WrestleMania 42 card a major boost.
