8 Debuts At AEW Forbidden Door 2025

With AEW Forbidden Door 2025 coming up in just under a month, there seems to be several debuts possible for the event.

From NJPW stars that have yet to appear in AEW, to potential new signings arriving in the company, there could be some big first time appearances in London for the annual crossover show.

Here are eight potential debuts at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.

8. Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang)

For AEW’s big return to London – it might make sense for some notable UK residents to make their debut.

Fans were surprised to hear the news of Gallus (Joe & Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) being released from WWE in May, especially being strongly featured in NXT for many years and even notably training with The Rock ahead of his WrestleMania 40 return.

But one man’s loss is another man’s gain as picking up the powerful trio could be a great move by Tony Khan, and not only for AEW’s UK tour but perhaps on a more consistent basis once the company arrives back in North America.

While Forbidden Door in London is close enough to home to make sense, AEW are heading to Glasgow on August 20, so perhaps they will have already made their debut in the company before the crossover event arrives.

7. Ace Austin

After departing TNA Wrestling, Ace Austin has been making his way around the independent wrestling scene as a free agent.

Having departed from TNA Wrestling after six years with the company – the star who is well known for his ABC tag team with Chris Bey is looking towards the next phase of his career.

With the talented star seemingly poised for big things in the future – perhaps a debut at Forbidden Door 2025 will be in order.

After being released from WWE back in May, Isla Dawn is one star that fans were hopeful would get a big return in the future.

Known for her time not only in WWE and NXT but also a dominating spell in NXT UK, Dawn showed great personality whenever she was on-screen, making her release a particularly surprising one.

With reported interest in the former WWE star from AEW, it could make total sense to see her debut come in the UK with London hosting this year’s edition of the crossover event.

Potentially set to debut at Forbidden Door 2025, or AEW’s show in Glasgow – there are still a lot of big career moments ahead for Isla Dawn.

5. Karl Fredericks (Eddy Thorpe)

Former WWE NXT star Eddy Thorpe

While he was known as Eddy Thorpe during his time with WWE, Karl Fredericks certainly has a past in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Fredericks has recently commented on his run in NXT, noting that there is still more left for him to accomplish in his career.

Potentially able to make a debut at Forbidden Door 2025 given his history in NJPW, it would be interesting to see what Fredericks could be capable of under different circumstances.

With the ability to function as a singles act or as a fearsome member of a faction, Fredericks could find new life at Forbidden Door.

4. Dakota Kai

Another former WWE star that could make complete sense to debut in AEW at Forbidden Door 2025 is Dakota Kai.

After finding a second chance in WWE in the Damage CTRL faction, Kai would ultimately be released in May.

However given her veteran in-ring skills as well as fan support – it could be that Dakota Kai ends up being picked up by AEW.

Potentially able to capitalize on Kai’s fan support and solid technical abilities in a way that didn’t come together in WWE, AEW could be the perfect move.

3. Sareee

The current IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee may have exerted dominance in STARDOM, NJPW and even NXT – but she has yet to make her AEW debut.

Given that she’s a current NJPW Champion as well as a member of the STARDOM roster,  Sareee is among the most logical picks to appear at Forbidden Door.

Potentially putting her IWGP title on the line, she could certainly put on an iconic match against numerous intriguing AEW choices like Julia Hart, Billie Starkz or Willow Nightingale.

After picking up the title in June 2025, she has yet to have a title defense so perhaps Forbidden Door is the perfect place.

It was recently reported that Shayna Baszler has been helping out as a producer behind the scenes in NXT, despite being released by WWE in May.

While many WWE fans got their hopes up regarding the company re-signing “The Queen of Spades”, that does not seem like its the case, with Shayna soon-to-be free to move elsewhere.

With the Death Riders seemingly continuing on even after Moxley’s AEW World Championship loss, perhaps it is time for Marina Shafir to get some back-up of her own. Looking for re-invention after departing WWE, Baszler could be the perfect addition to the violent group.

Able to utilize her legitimate MMA background and real-life tenacity – Baszler would make complete sense to debut at AEW Forbidden Door 2025.

1. Steve Borden Jr.

Sting and his sons at AEW Revolution for his retirement match

With the return of Darby Allin to AEW, perhaps the risk-taking star could possibly bring a new face with him at Forbidden Door – Sting’s son, Steve Borden Jr.

After appearing during Sting’s retirement match in AEW, Borden continued his in-ring training, being spotted training with the likes of Adam Copeland, FTR and of course, Darby Allin.

Potentially uniting the pair now that Allin has returned from his excursion climbing Mount Everest, it could be that a brand new team could be coming soon.

Whether or not the pair could debut at AEW Forbidden Door 2025 or later down the road – fans are looking forward to seeing what is next for the potential future second generation star.
