On January 6, WWE will move Monday Night Raw from cable television to the Netflix streaming service with their premiere from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
The company has already announced several major matches for the event with CM Punk going one-on-one with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns battling Solo Sikoa in Tribal Combat.
With the show’s arrival on Netflix, fans can expect some significant shifts on the show from the new stars on the roster to the format.
With the premiere mere weeks away, here are eight potential changes for WWE Raw on Netflix.
8. Change Back To Three Hours

In October 2024, WWE Raw reverted back to two hours for the first time since 2012 for the remaining months of its TV deal with the USA Network.
However, reports have indicated that this was a temporary change and the program will go back to a more extended time frame when they move to Netflix.
The Monday Night Raw roster has 67 stars on the roster and is built for the three hour format that allows for more talent to be featured.
Going back to three hours will give segments time to breathe and will make every Monday night feel like a PLE on Netflix if treated properly by the creative team and talent.

7. WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship

To close 2024, WWE introduced both the Women’s United States and Intercontinental Championships.
While Chelsea Green was crowned the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion on SmackDown, the Raw women’s division is still competing to see who will win the new gold.
The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship gives so many women an opportunity to garner the spotlight they deserve in title matches and storylines that are featured.
The company has yet to announce when the inaugural champion will be crowned, but the Netflix premiere should be the place to give one woman a huge moment on such a historic show.

6. Edgier Storylines & Angles

Going beyond the constraints of cable television provides WWE a big chance to try some different things or go back to things that have worked in the past.
Edgier storylines and angles was one of the main prevailing thoughts when WWE announced Raw’s move to Netflix.
While the company has stated they will maintain their PG rating, they should take some risks with edgier angles that help enhance the already stellar stories they are telling.
Whether it is a provocative storyline or something similar to the blood use fans saw with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, WWE Raw on Netflix should have some compelling adult drama to engage older viewers that will be new to the product.

5. The New Day Become World Tag Team Championships

On the December 2 edition of Monday Night Raw, The New Day celebrated their 10-year anniversary with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turning on Big E.
After their scathing speeches towards E for “abandoning” them while recovering from his career threatening neck injury, The New Day have become the most hated stars on WWE Raw.
Meanwhile, The Viking Raiders defeated The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh to win the World Tag Team Championships on the December 16 episode of Raw.
These recent developments should lead to The New Day dethroning Erik and Ivar to recapture the titles and prove that Big E was holding them back all along.

4. Logan Paul Arrives On Netflix

At the December 18 WWE Raw on Netflix Kickoff event, GM Adam Pearce announced that Logan Paul had signed to make the move to the red brand.
With the upcoming move to Netflix, Paul should become a potential main event star who could be an entertaining heel for the babyfaces to fight and interact with.
Paul’s dynamic adds a lot of intriguing options for WWE to explore, especially with the main event talent on the roster.
Whether it is rekindling a previous rivalry with such talent as Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio or a fresh matchup with the likes of GUNTHER and CM Punk, Paul provides a lightning rod personality that will provide memorable moments on Raw.

3. Becky Lynch Returns

Following her appearance at the recent media event at the Netflix Headquarters, it is believed that Becky Lynch’s WWE return is imminent.
The Man has been missed by many fans and her absence has affected the WWE women’s division in several different ways.
The multi-time WWE Women’s World Champion is a bonafide legend who has accomplished everything possible for a woman in the industry and will give Raw a major star upon their Netflix premiere.
With the scheduled WWE Women’s World Championship match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, Lynch’s return would also be perfect timing to set up a potential WrestleMania showdown.

2. Roman Reigns & The Bloodline Come To Raw

Since returning to WWE at SummerSlam 2024, Roman Reigns and The Bloodline saga has become the centerpiece storyline of the entire company once again.
While their presence on SmackDown has driven the main event programs for the past four years, Raw has also seen important moments, such as Sami Zayn’s Tribal Court and Jey Uso choosing his family over Sami.
Roman Reigns and the entire Bloodline storyline needs to be moved to Netflix to signal that Monday Night Raw is once again the flagship program of the promotion.
This move will also allow Cody Rhodes to flourish as the number one star on SmackDown without the cloud of The Bloodline storyline taking up space at the top of the card.

1. CM Punk Wins World Heavyweight Championship From GUNTHER

Since returning from his torn triceps injury this past summer, CM Punk has felt like the biggest star on the Monday Night Raw brand.
Whether it be down to the absolutely phenomenal feud with Drew McIntyre or his heated exchanges with Seth Rollins, Punk is a captivating character who brings out the best in everyone he interacts with.
While GUNTHER has been a good heel champion, WWE has leaned towards trying a crisis of confidence direction. After settling his unfinished business with Seth Rollins on the Netflix premiere, CM Punk should set his target on GUNTHER and eventually be the one to dethrone him.
Punk winning the World Heavyweight Championship and Roman Reigns moving to Raw will also set up the newly rumoured WrestleMania 41 main eventer properly and a payoff to Punk’s favor from Paul Heyman.
