8 AEW Returns Coming Soon

With AEW’s biggest ever North American event, AEW All In Texas fast approaching – there are some top names that could be coming back soon.

From out of action due to injuries or VISA issues, there are a host of AEW stars that seem poised to return sooner rather than later.

Here are eight AEW returns that could be coming soon.

8. Cope

AEW star Adam Copeland

Cope was taken out by FTR in a vicious attack – and subjected to his own signature Con-Chair-To move after the trio lost a match at AEW Dynasty back in April.

Having disappeared since, it certainly seems like Cope could be making a return sometime soon – and particularly ahead of AEW All In Texas.

While there have been rumors that he was possibly set to reunite with legendary tag team partner Christian Cage – the speculation was later refuted with report that Cage was set to continue in his current heel role leading the Patriarchy.

With Cope still likely to seek revenge against FTR, it seems he will still be back in action sometime soon – however exactly how he makes his return remains a closely guarded secret.

7. Hikaru Shida

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida hasn’t been seen in AEW since November 2024 when she had a losing effort against Kris Statlander on Dynamite.

However, her absence was recently confirmed to be entirely administrative according to the star.

Speaking on a livestream on her YouTube channel, Shida confirmed that she was in Japan and currently awaiting continued updates regarding her VISA status.

Noting that the process took time and that AEW legal department was working on the matter – she was enjoying her time in Japan at the minute but was hopeful to return to action in AEW soon.

6. Darby Allin

Darby Allin was written off of AEW television in spectacular fashion – with Jon Moxley throwing him down a long flight of stairs as the Deathriders ensured his incapacity.

However in actuality, Allin was taking time off to summit Mount Everest, a goal that he had previously been targeting but was delayed after he suffered an injury.

According to subsequent social media posts – he successfully summited Mount Everest and potentially could have already returned to sea level by this point.

With a series of upcoming shows including Dynamite on June 21 and a double Dynamite and Collision on June 25 set to hail from the Seattle area – Darby Allin may be back in AEW very soon.

5. Eddie Kingston

Out of action after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus, as well as a broken tibia during a match against Gabe Kidd in NJPW back in May 2024 – Kingston hasn’t been regularly featured in AEW TV for over a year.

While previous projections for his potential return for June 2025, Kingston had noted ahead of Double or Nothing that he ‘wasn’t there yet’ regarding an in-ring return.

He has however more recently been shown via clips on social media actively working on rehabbing with many fans hoping that his return could come sooner rather than later.

Perhaps Kingston will be tapped to make a special appearance at AEW All In Texas, whether or not he is able to participate in any physicality.

4. Juice Robinson

Since being out of action since November 2024, Juice Robinson is reportedly near a return to AEW.

Albeit since his departure, the Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn) have largely disappeared from AEW, last being seen since Robinson’s departure only once – in a losing effort to the Hurt Syndicate back in February.

Jay White for his part is out of action due to injury after suffering a broken hand on the March 29 episode of Collision during a match against Kevin Knight.

Whether or not there will be a Bang Bang Gang reunion in AEW or if Robinson returns for a singles run – it would be great to see the hilarious star back in action.

3. Bryan Danielson

AEW star Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson was sort of killed off of AEW TV back in October 2024 at the hands of his own Blackpool Combat Club brothers turned assailants.

With Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli moving ahead with the Deathriders (also featuring PAC and Marina Shafir) – Danielson disappeared, seemingly into retirement.

However – let it be known that Bryan Danielson was always very specific about retiring from full-time in-ring competition – NOT entirely.

With fan signings for Danielson publicly announced for the weekend of AEW All In Texas at Starrcast – it certainly would seem he will be in town for the big event – and could even factor into the eventual main event between Hangman Adam Page and Jon Moxley.

2. Jack Perry

Jack Perry has remained absent from AEW in-ring action since losing the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia in November 2024 at Full Gear.

Although he did go on to make appearances in NJPW which alluded to him settling his beef with the Young Bucks – he has yet to return to AEW.

Perhaps being withheld for a specific storyline reason, certainly a return from Jack Perry could add an interesting element to the on-going saga of The Elite.

In the interim however, Perry remains active on social media, showing off his recent hobby of knife making which is becoming more complex by the ‘missing from AEW’ month!

1. Orange Cassidy

Unlike the case of other missing in action AEW stars, it has been confirmed by Tony Khan the overall nature of Orange Cassidy’s recent absence.

Last wrestling on the March 19 edition of Dynamite, Orange Cassidy has been missing from AEW action since. Later it was confirmed by Tony Khan that Cassidy had picked up an injury however no further details were disclosed.

It was later speculated he may have suffered a torn pec – which could range in return time based on complexity of injury and intervention required.

While he may not be able to participate in in-ring action, certainly be disappointing if he were to miss out on AEW’s biggest show in North America yet in AEW All In Texas entirely.

It would be great to see Orange Cassidy return – even if it meant he was just involved in a pre or post-show panel for AEW’s stadium show on July 12.
