Ahead of WWE Clash in Paris 2025 on Sunday, August 31 there has already been a title to change hands on the go-home SmackDown.
With numerous titles on the line at the PLE in addition to storylines that are still evolving, it would seem that there could be several WWE title changes on the horizon.
Here are nine WWE title changes that are seemingly coming soon.
9. Sami Zayn Defeats Solo Sikoa For United States Championship

On the August 29 edition of WWE SmackDown, there was a title change in advance of the upcoming premium live event Clash in Paris 2025.
Taking on Solo Sikoa in a bout for the United States Championship, Sami Zayn managed to capture victory to become a US champ for the first time in his career.
Continuing his path to becoming a complete WWE Grand Slam Champion, Zayn continues to seek his first World championship on the main roster.
However for now, he has bested his former Bloodline brother Solo Sikoa and is surely set for a new feud soon.

8. Aleister Black Defeats Sami Zayn For United States Championship

Also on the August 29 edition of SmackDown, a vignette from Aleister Black with a reaction from Damian Priest.
While the pair continue to feud, it may make the most sense for Black to quickly boost the United States Championship off of fan favorite Zayn.
Being able to capture fan ire if he is to quickly squash Zayn’s title reign, the win could serve a dual purpose as well.
Adding stakes to the feud between Damian Priest and Aleister Black, the pair could end up going to war over the WWE United States Championship in the near future.

7. WWE Tag Team Championship

In a backstage segment on WWE SmackDown August 29, Bo Dallas made an appearance out of his Uncle Howdy character.
Approaching the Street Profits however, Dallas questioned the pair’s commitment to one another.
Leading to an eventual match being made for Clash in Paris 2025 between the Wyatt Sicks and the Street Profits, the late addition seems intriguing.
Potentially leading the way for a title change at the event, there is seemingly a storyline based reason why this match was added only days before the event.

6. WWE Women’s World Championship

After her pregnancy announcement Naomi also vacated the WWE Women’s World Championship.
While she originally set to face off against Stephanie Vaquer at Clash at Paris 2025, the match would end up being canceled.
With Stephanie Vaquer set to take on an opponent that has yet to be identified for the title, there are a lot of intriguing possibilities.
No matter who ends up in the match for the title, there will be a brand new WWE Women’s World Champions soon.

5. WWE Women’s Championship

Marking an example of a successful title reign off the back of a Money in the Bank cash-in, Tiffany Stratton has been a fighting champion.
After having continued her reign of dominance on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton has been WWE Women’s Champion since January 3rd, 2025 and could be poised to continue her reign throughout the year.
However with a lot of top contenders potentially headed her way from either the WWE Draft or NXT stars being called up to the main roster – it could make sense to see an end to Tiffy Time in the near future.
While Stratton has vanquished all of the opponents that SmackDown has afforded her, there could be some new faces on the horizon – like Jordynne Grace, Jacy Jayne or a returning Bianca Belair – that could end her reign.

4. Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Nikki Bella Defeats Becky Lynch

At Clash in Paris 2025, Becky Lynch is set to put her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against Hall of Famer, Nikki Bella.
While it would be a rather predictable finish for Lynch to simply best Bella – it might make for a more intriguing future match if Bella is able to win the bout.
Able to then put a high profile re-match, potentially even adding the likes of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to the match to make it a fatal four-way.
With WWE’s ESPN debut Wrestlepalooza coming up next month, it would make total sense to see both Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella on the card.

3. WWE World Tag Team Championship

With the New Day still in mourning after losing their WWE World Tag Team Championship to the Judgment Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) it would seem that they’re still looking to reclaim them.
Although they’ve held the titles over 60 days at time of writing, they have only had one successful title defense in their reign.
After besting the LWO (Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) on July 28, the team hasn’t defended their titles since.
Presumably set to have an eventual rematch with the New Day, it would make sense for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to end up reclaiming their titles in the near future.

2. NXT Championship

Oba Femi has reigned as the dominant NXT Champion since early January.
As with most NXT Champions, it feels like it’s just a matter of time before Femi ends up on the WWE main roster, which would mean losing his title.
The big question is who Femi would drop the title to, as there are very few names on his level in NXT at the moment.
His next challenger is Ricky Saints, who might just be the one to topple him.

1. NXT North American Championship

NXT North American Champion Ethan Page is in a very similar situation to Oba Femi.
Page has already held the NXT Championship, and has recently formed an alliance with Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice that has reportedly been pitched for a transition to the main roster.
Tavion Heights has recently emerged as a challenger to Page’s title, and it wouldn’t be a surprise for Heights to win the gold and for Page to move up to Raw or SmackDown.
