Among WWE’s vast array of babyface stars, there are a select few who seem like they could be heading towards a heel turn sooner rather than later.
From frustrated stars pushed to their breaking point, to those in need of a character reinvention – this list covers a lot of ground.
Here are seven WWE heel turns that could be coming soon.
7. Sami Zayn

When it comes to teased heel turns, their has perhaps been none more so lately than Sami Zayn.
Whether it be him lingering behind Jey Uso as he celebrated his World Heavyweight Title win on the Raw after WrestleMania, or the constant run-ins with known pot-stirrer Karrion Kross – it seems as if Zayn could soon find his way towards the dark side.
The main motivation – as has been mentioned by Kross himself – is Zayn’s lack of world championship success in his career, and if he finally wants to win the big one he may have to take some drastic measures.
Zayn turning on Jey Uso would be the ultimate backstab and one that would be about the most surefire way to establish Zayn as a heel in the most impactful fashion.

6. LA Knight

Just because a character is a “heel” doesn’t necessarily mean he or she have to be unpopular with the fans.
With many beloved bad guys in the history of WWE, perhaps the way to really give LA Knight a boost is to give him a bit of a mean streak.
Surely frustrated by everything that he has been through – coming very close to, but not quite achieving his biggest WWE goals – perhaps there is more character motivation to be anti-establishment than anything else.
Willing to speak his mind and talk some smack in the process – LA Knight is a character that still has a lot of layers left to be revealed.

5. Bianca Belair

While it remains a controversial notion, Bianca Belair could absolutely turn heel and retain a vast majority of her popularity.
In a new era of WWE that has even seen John Cena turn heel and continue to be booed as well as cheered – there is perhaps an unprecedented opportunity for an ‘in-between’ star to make an impact.
After Naomi won the Money in the Bank ladder match, she continues to seek approval from Bianca – which could end up proving to be a vital character detail.
They were both wildly popular as a babyface tag team but could perhaps be even better if they were allowed to be bad.

4. Rhea Ripley

While she may be among WWE’s most popular babyfaces now, Rhea Ripley was still quite popular when she was a heel member of Judgment Day.
Accordingly, that support seemingly wouldn’t evaporate should she exhibit a new attitude in the future and returns to her heelish roots.
While she has been struggling to get back to her place at the top of WWE, perhaps Ripley will go the way of Naomi and finally have enough of getting close but not quite there – employing some drastic measures to ensure her success – notably against IYO SKY – of whom she has yet to ever defeat.
Able to walk the line between being a badass babyface and outright heel, Ripley could always just up her antics in order to blur the lines and achieve some success but without going fully evil.

3. Alexa Bliss

Since the return of Alexa Bliss to a thunderous crowd reaction at the 2025 Royal Rumble, she has been positioned as a babyface character.
However with her recent efforts yet to yield success – having lost in both the Elimination Chamber and the Money in the Bank ladder match – perhaps she will find some re-invigoration through a change in character.
While it continues to be rumored that Bliss is poised to join the Wyatt Sicks – it could be the ultimate betrayal for Bliss to instead turn her back on the Fireflies, making fans truly despise her without any heavy lifting.
Even better would be an allegiance with Charlotte Flair, something that Bliss herself was seeking only a few weeks back. Given Flair’s heat with the crowd, that’s about as easy a way to turn Bliss as WWE can get.

2. Nathan Frazer

Although he has been positioned as a babyface during his most recent run in WWE, Nathan Frazer is certainly a performer who seems like he has the ability to go dark.
While some fans long expected Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) to fall apart in NXT – the pair have successfully found their way to the main roster as a pair.
However, just because he is still a babyface now doesn’t mean that a few more disappointments couldn’t lead to Nathan Frazer becoming fed up with tag team life.
With clear singles aspirations of his own, the heel turn of Nathan Frazer – particularly if it comes by way of betraying Axiom – would be one few fans would want to see, which makes it all the more impactful.

1. Ilja Dragunov

While he is currently out of action, perhaps upon his return Ilja Dragunov will embrace his dark side.
The Mad Dragon has been out of action in WWE since September 2024 when he sustained a torn ACL during a live show match against GUNTHER.
Although it has recently been reported that Dragunov may be closer to returning than previously thought, with speculation about his return timeline ranging anywhere from now until Fall.
Able to tap into his intensity as a babyface or a heel, Dragunov could certainly return as a babyface – however he may be even more interesting if he returns as a heel.
