WWE WrestleMania 42 is shaping up to be an intriguing two nights for the company, with a lineup of matches that will see major ramifications for the entire company.
With 12 bouts already announced for the event, the company will offer some surprises either in the matches or elsewhere throughout the premium live event.
From returning talent to compelling twists in stories, these shocking moments will completely alter the landscape of the promotion moving forward.
Here are seven potential surprises at WWE WrestleMania 42.
7. Bron Breakker Returns To Cost Seth Rollins His Match Against GUNTHER
Back in October 2025, Bron Breakker orchestrated the entire Vision turning on Seth Rollins, excommunicating him from the faction he created.
Right before Rollins was set to return, Breakker was sidelined with a hernia that would leave him sidelined indefinitely.
Rollins made his return and was making The Vision’s lives a living hell, but then on the March 30 episode of WWE Raw, GUNTHER made his return to attack “The Visionary” and set up a showdown at WrestleMania 42.
Breakker making his return at Mania to cost Rollins his bout against GUNTHER would make sense to set the course for this rivalry that might span months following “The Show of Shows.”
6. Oba Femi Destroys Brock Lesnar In Minutes
Over the past few weeks, Oba Femi has proven himself to be the hottest new star in WWE during his feud against Brock Lesnar.
Now, Femi will square off with Lesnar in a highly anticipated showdown that the fanbase is enamored with at WrestleMania 42.
While many fans are looking forward to this one, some others are dreading Lesnar potentially taking “The Ruler” down a peg at Mania.
To fully cement the former two-time NXT Champion as the newest main eventer in the company, Oba could destroy “The Beast Incarnate” in mere minutes to show off his dominance and continue his meteoric rise at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
5. Bianca Belair Returns To Align With Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY Against Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
Rhea Ripley has become a huge threat to Jade Cargill’s WWE Women’s Championship reign with their match announced for WrestleMania 42.
With that in mind, Cargill aligned herself with Michin and B-Fab to take down Ripley and stop her ascent to the top spot on Friday Night SmackDown.
Then on the April 3 episode of SmackDown, IYO SKY helped Ripley out and fought off this new trio. However, RHIYO still find themselves outnumbered by Cargill, Michin and B-Fab.
After more than a year on the sidelines with a serious knuckle injury, Bianca Belair could make her return at WrestleMania 42 to align with Rhea and IYO against Cargill and company.

4. Trick Williams & Sami Zayn Double Turn
On the March 28 edition of WWE SmackDown, Sami Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the United States Championship.
Later in the evening, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announced that Zayn will defend his newly won title against Trick Williams.
After weeks of feuding and the way Williams caused Zayn to win the title, this has led to the fans reacting to both men differently with Trick receiving unanimous cheers, while Sami has been garnering some heat as of late.
WWE could fully embrace the crowd reaction by having Trick turn babyface and Sami turning heel at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas during their US Title match.
3. Tom Brady Makes Surprise Appearance To Confront Logan Paul
Over the past month, there has been some discussion on social media and podcast platforms about a simmering issue between Tom Brady and Logan Paul.
On the WWE star’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, Brady appeared and had some disparaging remarks about the world of pro wrestling.
This led to some barbs being traded between Brady and Paul on social media. Then, reports and rumors emerged indicating that the NFL legend could potentially make an appearance on WWE TV.
Brady making a surprise appearance to confront Logan Paul seems like a memorable moment that could take place at WrestleMania 42 on either April 18 or 19 in Vegas.

2. Jelly Roll Turns Heel On Cody Rhodes To Align With Randy Orton & Pat McAfee
Over the past few weeks, country music star Jelly Roll has become a regular part of Friday Night SmackDown, including his presence in the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes feud.
On the March 27 episode of SmackDown, Jelly tried to separate Cody and Randy during their brawl until Orton laid out the Grammy Award winner with a RKO.
Then, the April 3 SmackDown saw Orton reveal Pat McAfee as his mystery caller in an attack on Rhodes.
Despite being laid out by “The Viper,” Jelly Roll could return to feign helping Cody before turning heel on him and joining forces with Orton and McAfee at WrestleMania 42.
1. Jey Uso Costs Roman Reigns The World Heavyweight Championship Against CM Punk
The Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk feud heading into WrestleMania 42 has gotten increasingly personal between both men.
After Punk disrespected Roman’s late father Sika Anoa’i, this led to The Usos coming out to confront “The Best In The World” to demand an apology.
In recent weeks, this has caused Jey Uso to be more upset than even Reigns and called the shot for “The OTC” to lay out Punk on the March 23 edition of WWE Raw.
This might all be setting up an ultimate betrayal where Jey is the reason why Reigns does not walk out of WrestleMania 42 with the World Heavyweight Championship against Punk in Las Vegas.
