WWE Clash In Italy 2026 is shaping to be a special night filled with some high profile matches and memorable moments.
The first premium live event from Turin, Italy will not only feature star studded bouts, but it could also be highlighted by a few notable surprises throughout this evening.
From new champions being crowned, to major debuts, these surprises should shock the fans and make this PLE one of the best of 2026.
Here are seven potential surprises at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.
7. GUNTHER Defeats Cody Rhodes For Undisputed WWE Championship
On the May 1 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, GUNTHER attacked Cody Rhodes and laid him out with a sleeper.
Making it clear that he was coming for the Undisputed WWE Championship, GUNTHER picking up a win over Royce Keys led to a title bout being scheduled for Clash In Italy 2026.
“The Ring General” is looking to finally beat Rhodes and capture the Undisputed WWE Championship for the first time.
GUNTHER dethroning Rhodes should be a shocking moment with this contest kicking off the premium live event airing live on ESPN.
6. Sol Ruca Upsets Becky Lynch To Win WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
At the May 23 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch via DQ in a non-title match.
After the bout, Lynch attacked Ruca with multiple Manhandle Slams, sending a message to the newest star on the Raw roster.
This led to Lynch defending the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Ruca being made official for Clash In Italy 2026.
Sol finally getting her first pinfall victory by defeating Becky for the Women’s IC Title would be a pleasant surprise and see her elevated for the first time since her main roster callup.
5. Zaria Joins Forces With Becky Lynch On Main Roster To Cost Sol Ruca WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
On the April 21 NXT Revenge special, Zaria defeated Sol Ruca in a Last Woman Standing Match.
This led to Sol Ruca being officially called up to the WWE main roster, while Zaria remained on the NXT brand.
While she is focused on the NXT Women’s North American Championship, Zaria could be ready to make the jump to the WWE main roster.
Forming an alliance with Becky Lynch, Zaria could be the difference in the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship costing her former friend Sol Ruca in the process at Clash In Italy 2026.
4. Blake Monroe Makes Official Main Roster Debut To Challenge Winner Of Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill For WWE Women’s Championship
After weeks of vignettes, Blake Monroe made her WWE SmackDown debut in a backstage segment with Chelsea Green on the May 22 episode of SmackDown
Over the past few weeks, Blake Monroe’s main roster debut has been hyped in a series of vignettes on Friday Night SmackDown.
Then on the May 22 edition of SmackDown, the former Mariah May appeared in a backstage segment with Chelsea Green.
At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Rhea Ripley will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill in a WrestleMania 42 rematch.
Wanting to make an immediate impact on the main roster, Monroe could make her official debut appearance to challenge the winner of Ripley and Cargill at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.
3. Oba Femi Defeats Brock Lesnar Even Faster Than He Did At WrestleMania 42
At WWE WrestleMania 42 Night Two, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar in what was the biggest win of his career.
After the match, it looked like Lesnar had decided to retire by taking off his gloves and boots to leave them in the ring to signal his retirement.
However, Lesnar made a shocking return to attack Femi with four straight F-5s. Paul Heyman later revealed that Brock was back for a rematch at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.
“The Ruler” could make it two-for-two against “The Beast Incarnate” and shock the fans by beating Lesnar at WWE Clash In Italy 2026 even faster than he did at Mania.
2. Jacob Fatu Beats Roman Reigns For World Heavyweight Championship
At the WWE Backlash 2026 premium live event, Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
However, Fatu attacked Reigns with the Tongan Death Grip over and over again after the bout. Following a three-on-one assault from The Bloodline, “The Samoan Werewolf” issued a challenge for Tribal Combat against “The OTC.”
This bout gives WWE a huge opportunity to truly elevate Fatu to the top by having him get the win at Clash In Italy 2026.
Fatu defeating Reigns in Tribal Combat to win the World Heavyweight Championship would be fitting and see him ascend straight to the top of WWE in a major way.
1. The Rock Returns For Tribal Combat
The Rock bestowed the ula fala upon Roman Roman Reigns following the last Tribal Combat match in WWE between Reigns and Solo Sikoa on the January 6, 2025 episode of Raw
Back on the January 6, 2025 WWE Raw on Netflix premiere episode, Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat to officially become “The Tribal Chief” and retrieve the ula fala.
After his victory, The Rock came out and gifted Reigns with the ula fala as a member of the Samoan family dynasty.
With this being the first Tribal Combat since that match, Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu at WWE Clash In Italy 2026 could open the door for a surprise appearance for “The Final Boss.”
The Rock returning to give either Reigns or Fatu the ula fala seems like an appropriate closing scene that could give a vision into what is next from The Bloodline drama moving forward.
